On this occasion, the VGCL is seeking opinions on the Guidance on organization and operation of the Network of Safety and Hygiene Workers.
The conference was organized live and online with the participation of standing representatives, officials working in occupational safety and health and women's affairs of the Hanoi City Labor Federation and 16 central industry trade unions, economic group trade unions, and General Corporation trade unions directly under the General Confederation. At local bridge points, there were standing representatives, officials working in occupational safety and health, female officials of provincial and city labor federations and Vietnam Rubber Trade Union.
Speaking at the opening, Standing Vice President of the VGCL Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized the importance of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health and the Network of Occupational Safety and Health Workers, and at the same time requested the team of trade union officials to base on the practical experience of the unit to make practical contributions, ensuring the representation, protection, and care for workers in the field of occupational safety and health.
The development of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health is carried out in the direction of focusing on amending and supplementing truly necessary, urgent, and directly related contents related to the implementation of the Party and State's guidelines on arranging and consolidating the organizational structure and organization of local governments at 2 levels, promoting decentralization and delegation of power, administrative procedure reform and innovation in state management methods, and at the same time handling difficulties and obstacles that have been clearly identified through the practice of law implementation.
Regarding the Guidance on organization and operation of the Safety and Hygiene Network, one of the goals is to promote the effectiveness of the safety and hygiene network, which is the local mass force participating in detecting and preventing the risk of work accidents and occupational diseases; improving working conditions and environment; taking care of workers' health and promoting the building of a safety culture at the workplace.
In addition, strengthen dialogue, negotiation and coordination between trade unions and employers to ensure conditions, time, regimes, allowances and mechanisms for receiving and resolving recommendations to ensure safety and hygiene for employees to perform their tasks well...
