Actively mobilizing
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thach - Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones of Ha Tinh province - said that the establishment of grassroots trade unions and the development of union members are always identified by the unit as important tasks. Therefore, every year, the unit develops specific plans, targets, and solutions to effectively implement this activity.
According to Mr. Thach, since the beginning of the year, the unit has established 2 grassroots unions, developing 600 union members (including developing more union members in units with already existing union organizations). In the near future, the unit will announce the establishment of the VG High Energy Solutions Company Limited Trade Union, admitting 400 union members.
"Currently, there is not much room to establish grassroots trade unions, and the labor in enterprises is basically stable and has little increase. There are no new projects in the area, the factory has just been completed and put into operation. With such difficulties, but with the highest determination, we will be flexible with many synchronous solutions to successfully complete the targets and tasks of establishing grassroots trade unions and developing union members in 2025" - Mr. Thach shared.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Hai - Chairman of Duc Tho District Labor Federation - said that recently, in Duc Tho District, after union officials approached businesses to propagate and mobilize workers to join the Trade Union organization, and mobilize the establishment of grassroots unions, most businesses have supported and created favorable conditions.
According to Mr. Hai, it is important that the propaganda and mobilization process must help businesses and workers see their roles and functions of representing, protecting, caring for the interests of union members, proactively grasping the situation, thoughts and aspirations of workers to promptly recommend employers to resolve them. Thereby, building a harmonious, stable and progressive relationship in the enterprise.
Determined to establish a grassroots trade union to reach 100% of qualified enterprises
The Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor has just summarized 7 years of implementing Resolution 02 of the Provincial Federation of Labor Standing Committee (Resolution issued on May 22, 2018) on "Strengthening the development of union members, establishing trade union organizations and building strong grassroots trade unions in enterprises".
After 7 years of implementing Resolution 02 of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Ha Tinh Trade Union has established 251/200 grassroots trade unions, reaching 125%, and admitted 23,747/15,000 new union members, reaching 158% of the target set by the Resolution, the number of employees in enterprises with trade unions admitted to trade union members reached 94.3%.
Currently, Ha Tinh Trade Union has 1,480 grassroots unions with 71,715 union members. Of which, the grassroots trade unions of administrative and career agencies have 1,091 units, with 44,299 union members; the grassroots trade unions in enterprises have 389 units, with 27,416 union members.
In Ha Tinh province, the number of enterprises eligible to establish grassroots trade unions but do not have trade unions is currently 719 units, with 3,883 employees.
Of which, 462 enterprises employ 5-9 or more employees, 148 enterprises employ 10-14 employees, 73 enterprises employ 15-24 employees and 36 enterprises employ 25 or more employees.
According to the Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor, in the area, there are currently mainly small and micro enterprises, causing difficulties for union officials to approach workers, propagate and mobilize the establishment of grassroots unions.
However, with high determination and great efforts, in the coming time, the Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor aims to establish grassroots unions in 100% of qualified enterprises. At the same time, the Provincial Federation of Labor also directed the grassroots trade unions to focus on performing their functions well, helping businesses develop sustainably
