Thousands of workers in Binh Duong who are in difficulty are supported by the union with free air, train and bus tickets to return home for Tet. These meaningful trips bring joy to reunions, creating a warm and humane Spring.

108 plane tickets, 1,450 train tickets for free for workers

On January 22, the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor is urgently handing out Tet gifts to disadvantaged workers who are staying in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet. Unions at all levels are also reviewing difficult cases who have not been able to return home for Tet for two consecutive years to provide support. Notably, the activity of sending workers home for Tet continues to receive attention and support from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has supported 2 billion VND, including 108 air tickets, worth more than 432 million VND, to give to workers in Binh Duong. Currently, the unit has completed the list of air tickets given to workers.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also presented 450 round-trip train tickets to workers in Binh Duong. On the morning of January 22, at Di An station, the Binh Duong Provincial Confederation of Labor organized a farewell ceremony for workers boarding the train to return home for Tet.

Mr. Pham Trong Nhan - Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor - said that this year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor donated 450 round-trip train tickets, and the Provincial Federation of Labor donated 1,000 0 VND train tickets to union members and workers.

According to the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor, the workers who were given train and plane tickets are all in difficult circumstances and have not returned home for two consecutive years. The grassroots union has reviewed and recommended that the Provincial Federation of Labor and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor award the train tickets.

In addition to the above two programs, trade unions at all levels in Binh Duong donated nearly 2,000 bus tickets to bring disadvantaged workers home for Tet. Enterprises and grassroots trade unions also organized free bus trips to bring tens of thousands of workers home. Notably, Dai Loc Co., Ltd. supported bus tickets for 4,200 workers, Kaiser 1 Co., Ltd. supported bus tickets for 3,100 workers, Kaiser 2 Co., Ltd. supported bus tickets for 2,660 workers, Yazaki EDS Co., Ltd. supported 5 round-trip sleeper buses for 200 workers, etc.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee - assessed that the above activities of Binh Duong Trade Union are very practical. "These activities have clearly demonstrated profound humanity, helping workers have a spring reunion with their families" - Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan spoke at the ceremony to send workers off to the ship on January 22.

Female worker who hasn't returned home in 20 years gets plane ticket

Receiving plane tickets from the trade union, workers in Binh Duong were moved. Some had not returned home for 3 consecutive years, and some had not been able to return home for Tet for more than 10 years due to difficult circumstances.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen (48 years old, from Ha Tinh), a worker at Dai Loc Shoe Company is a typical example. She said that she has been working in Binh Duong for 30 years, but has not had the opportunity to return to her hometown for 20 years.

“I have never been on a plane since I was a child. This year, I received a plane ticket from the trade union at all levels to go home for Tet. This is an unforgettable memory in my life,” said Nguyen Thi Quyen.

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Binh (from Nghe An) has not returned home for Tet for 12 consecutive years. Receiving a free train ticket from the Trade Union, Ms. Binh was moved to tears. “I have not informed my family in the countryside. I intended to surprise the whole family. I would like to thank the Trade Union for creating conditions for me to return home to reunite with my family,” Ms. Binh shared.

Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet (41 years old, from Ha Tinh) has not returned to her hometown for 3 years. Although she misses her children very much, due to difficulties, she has had to stay in Binh Duong for many years during Tet to save money. “I have 2 children. For the past 3 years since I moved to Binh Duong to work, I have never returned to my hometown to visit my children, because my income is only enough to cover my limited living expenses. Today, receiving a free train ticket from the union to return to my hometown, I am extremely moved and grateful to the union for helping my children and I reunite during Tet,” Ms. Tuyet expressed.
