The Action Month takes place from May 1 to 31 across the province, with the theme: "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace".
The highlight of this year's Action Month is the combination of organizing the launching ceremony of the Action Month on occupational safety and health with Workers' Month in 2025. This is an opportunity for all levels, sectors and businesses to show real concern for the health and rights of workers through practical activities such as visiting, encouraging workers in accidents, supporting workers in difficult circumstances, honoring individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and health.
Communication and raising public awareness is promoted through mass information systems, social networks, billboards, posters, leaflets... to spread the spirit of "Safety is paramount" and encourage workers to proactively participate in training and improve safe working skills.
At the grassroots level, enterprises and cooperatives organize training courses on occupational safety and health, reviewing working conditions, inspecting equipment, monitoring the working environment and conducting periodic health check-ups for employees, especially for enterprises operating in areas with high potential risks such as mechanics, mineral exploitation, electrical repair, civil construction, etc. will be inspected and monitored more closely.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai - a worker at the left bank of the River Da Industrial Park shared: "Every year, when the Labor Safety and Hygiene Month comes, I feel warm because the union always organizes many practical activities, caring about the lives of workers. Although the work is small, it brings great joy and motivation for us to feel secure in sticking with the work".
Many agencies and units organize competitions to learn about occupational safety and health laws, technical innovation initiatives, seminars, policy dialogues, creating forums for employees and employers to share and remove obstacles, thereby building a Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safer working environment.
The special feature in this year's plan is the focus on the group of workers without labor relations, those who often work in households, freelance groups, unskilled workers... Training and propaganda classes will be designed specifically to suit the conditions of each group, helping them raise awareness and skills in risk prevention during work.
Mr. Tong Duc Chien - Head of the Department of Labor Affairs, concurrently Director of the Center for Consulting and Supporting Workers said: "The Action Month is not only a propaganda activity but also an opportunity for all levels and sectors to review the current situation of occupational safety and health at the grassroots level, thereby providing more effective solutions to better care for workers".
