Ba Ria - Vung Tau - In addition to receiving Tet gifts, workers also receive free health check-ups and participate in lucky draws to receive valuable gifts.

On January 22, Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (the contractor for package 12 of the Thuy Van road renovation project in Bai Sau, Vung Tau City) organized the "Building Tet" program for more than 400 workers working at the construction site.

This is an annual program jointly organized by businesses and grassroots unions, starting from 2023 to present, with two main purposes: free health check-ups and giving Tet gifts to workers.

Right at the construction site before work hours, more than 400 workers received free health check-ups in many areas such as: blood pressure check, ear, nose and throat check-up, eye check-up, X-ray... After that, the workers enthusiastically participated in the "Building Tet" program with cultural exchange performances, instant photo taking, Tet gift giving, lucky draw... On this occasion, the company also encouraged workers to register to work during Tet at the construction site.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (a worker) said that the company has organized activities to care for and give gifts to support workers to celebrate Tet. As for working during Tet, any worker who wants to can register to participate, it is not mandatory.

"The company announced that in addition to the high wages according to regulations, it will also support a part of the expenses, accommodation, and food for employees who register to work during Tet holidays," said Ms. Ly.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam - representative of the Command Board at the construction site of the Thuy Van road renovation project - said that the "Build Tet" program was organized nationwide, at about 40 projects and more than 17,000 gifts were given to workers.

Currently, there are about 450 workers and 60 engineers working on the construction project in Bai Sau, Vung Tau City. Despite the encouragement, only more than 100 workers have registered to work during Tet. It is expected that the company will arrange for site preparation work during Tet holidays, to be ready to speed up construction progress right after Tet.

"In addition to ensuring financial support for workers according to regulations, we also support additional expenses; organize New Year's Eve programs, and give lucky money to workers on construction sites during Tet...", Mr. Nam said.

It is known that the Thuy Van road renovation project with a total investment of more than 1,094 billion VND will be implemented and completed within 180 days from the start of construction (completed before April 30, 2025). The enterprise has planned to stabilize its staff, increase recruitment to about 800-1000 workers to continue to speed up the progress; set a goal of completing construction, bringing the project to the finish line early on April 21.
