Strong belief in outstanding welfare
The reality of many grassroots trade unions in Vinh Long province shows that the trust of workers is built from practical care. The union focuses on activities close to the needs of life, creating natural attachment to union members.
At Ty Xuan Company Limited, with more than 21,000 employees, the union membership rate is 99.8%. Grassroots trade unions invest in welfare, maintain wedding visits, support sick people and organize preferential shopping at peak times.
Mr. Le Van Tien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Ty Xuan Company Limited said that the operation of the "Union Tet Market" brings clear benefits, helping workers reduce costs and prepare more carefully for their families. This is a program that attracts a large number of union members at enterprises to participate.
At Ty Bach Company Limited, the union membership rate reached 97.52%, with benefits focused on actual needs. The trade union negotiated to support loans, purchase discounted goods and coordinated to promote workers' housing plans.
Ms. Lam Thi Ngoc Ha - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Ty Bach Company Limited said that these supports help workers stabilize their lives.

"The grassroots trade union also maintains regular dialogues, promptly resolves feedback, maintains a harmonious working environment and limits conflicts," Ms. Ha added.
According to the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor, the "Union Member Welfare" program has also been replicated throughout the province to link businesses to supply essential goods to union members and workers. Many units have deployed charity houses for colleagues to support union members with housing difficulties.
These models create a positive effect, helping workers clearly see the benefits of joining the Trade Union. This is an important factor helping businesses maintain a very high union membership rate.
Put union members' interests first
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the whole province currently has 169,462 union members out of a total of 182,850 workers, with 615 grassroots unions and trade unions maintaining stable operations.
According to Mr. Linh, in the new context, the Trade Union organization must shift from management thinking to service. All activities are directed towards the actual needs of workers, creating specific and easily perceptible benefits in daily life.
Mr. Linh emphasized that negotiating collective labor agreements must be of higher quality. Provisions on salary, benefits or working conditions need to bring value beyond the legal framework to union members.

The provincial trade union also identified the need to innovate financial work, use transparent resources and prioritize direct care. Provincial welfare programs will continue to be expanded with many practical incentives.
Another important orientation is to improve the quality of trade union officials. The team must be trained synchronously, especially in negotiation, dispute resolution and digital skills, to meet new requirements of the labor market.
"When cadres have the capacity and service spirit, the Trade Union organization will become a reliable support. This is the foundation to help union members stick together, contributing to the development of a strong and sustainable Trade Union," Mr. Linh added.
