Mr. Vice President, how do you assess the role of Lao Dong Newspaper in propagating and bringing the policies and resolutions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the contingent of officials, union members, and workers nationwide?
- The Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always highly appreciates the role of Lao Dong Newspaper in propaganda, information orientation and spreading the image of the Vietnam Trade Union organization. Through propaganda articles, reflections, and policy analysis, the Newspaper has promptly informed officials, union members, workers and society about the Vietnam Trade Union organization, especially innovations in activities to better fulfill the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the rights of union members and workers.
Prominent are the series of propaganda articles about Tet care activities of Trade Union levels for workers such as: Trade Union Tet Market, organizing trains and buses to take workers home for Tet; organizing Trade Union Meals; caring for union members, female workers and children of union members and workers through models such as "Your health", "Collective wedding", "Summer camp for children of workers and laborers", milk squeezing and storage rooms at enterprises, Vietnam Trade Union scholarship program for the period 2026-2031... Most recently, the activity of awarding "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
These articles make an important contribution to helping workers and businesses understand and correctly understand the Vietnam Trade Union organization, thereby, along with the process of mobilizing, voluntarily joining, supporting and participating in the activities of the Trade Union organization. In addition, the Newspaper also has many articles highlighting typical examples of Trade Union officials, good workers, and good practices at the grassroots level, thereby sharing and spreading operating experiences among Trade Union officials, especially grassroots Trade Union officials.
How does the Vice Chairman assess the drastic innovation of Lao Dong Newspaper to meet the needs of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the new situation?
- The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and I personally highly appreciate the fact that Lao Dong Newspaper is always a pioneer in digital transformation and implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus and ensuring professional quality. The activities behind the newspaper are effectively implemented, showing the efforts and dedication of the whole collective and have the impact on the whole society. The Golden Heart Charity Fund can be mentioned, a reputable operating address for the past 30 years (1996-2026), with many activities to help union members, workers, people in difficult circumstances and build many gratitude projects. Every year, the Newspaper organizes programs such as "Vietnamese Glory", "Exemplary Enterprises for Workers".
Most recently, the 22nd "Vietnam Glory" Program organized by Lao Dong Newspaper under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. After 22 years of organization, the program has always steadfastly pursued the goal of honoring collectives and individuals with particularly outstanding achievements, who have made direct, persistent and outstanding contributions to the socio-economic development of the country, as well as the development of agencies, units, and businesses. The program is increasingly spreading widely, not only among workers, civil servants, and laborers but also to all classes of people. Through this, the program arouses the aspiration to contribute, inspires each citizen, each collective to strive, strive to rise up, contribute to the development of the country and become typical examples recognized by society... Vinh quang Vietnam has become a prestigious brand, contributing to enhancing the position of the Trade Union organization.
What does Lao Dong Newspaper need to do in the coming time to continue to affirm its position, prestige and develop, Mr. Vice Chairman?
- To continue to have outstanding development steps in the coming time, in my opinion, each official, reporter, and worker of the Newspaper must promote responsibility, solidarity, and maintain the principles and purposes of Lao Dong Newspaper as the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, a forum for union members and workers nationwide.
In the immediate future, the Newspaper needs to have articles that go deeper into the lives of workers; bring the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers to functional agencies. In addition, the Newspaper needs to focus on bringing the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" into life. These contents need to be expressed vividly, with specific and persuasive evidence. Along with articles about workers and Trade Union activities, the Newspaper needs to continue to have more investigative articles to protect justice, protect union members and workers; detect and reflect difficulties and obstacles from grassroots practice for the General Confederation to study, handle or propose to competent authorities to resolve...
On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the first issue of Lao Dong Newspaper, what message does the Vice Chairman have for the team of officials, reporters, and employees of the Newspaper?
- The Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, as well as the team of officials, union members, and workers, always wishes the Lao Dong Newspaper to develop more and more. To achieve that, I propose that each official, reporter, and worker must inherit the glorious 97-year tradition of the Newspaper, improve their skills, grasp new knowledge, and actively transform digitally to better serve professional work. In particular, everyone should work with both heart and mind for union members, workers, and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
