On the afternoon of August 4, at the headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper in Hanoi, a meeting and experience exchange took place between Lao Dong Newspaper and Heng Ngan Newspaper and the Public Information Department within the framework of the cooperation program between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Lao Central Confederation of Labour for the period 2023-2028.
Speaking at the working session, the Head of the Lao delegation - Mr. Soukthavone Hotthavongsa - Head of the Central Radio and Television Department of the Lao Trade Union Union Union thanked Lao Dong Newspaper for taking the time to receive and share experiences.
The delegation highly appreciated the role of Lao Dong Newspaper as the main press agency of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, and at the same time wished to learn more experiences in modern journalistic activities.
The partner is interested in content on digital transformation, application of artificial intelligence (AI) in content production, operation of digital newsrooms and development of social networking platforms. These are also topics that the two sides discussed in the working program.
The delegation expressed their wish that in the coming time, the two press agencies will continue to maintain delegation exchange activities, share professional experiences, and exchange information regularly, contributing to further strengthening the cooperative relationship between the trade union organizations of the two countries.
Speaking to welcome the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - emphasized that the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless asset of the two nations, in which cooperation between trade union press agencies is of practical significance in strengthening understanding, connection and mutual support.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh introduced a general overview of the construction and development process of Lao Dong Newspaper with a 97-year history and said that in recent years, Lao Dong Newspaper has identified digital transformation as a key task.
Many technology products serving editorial activities are researched and developed by the newspaper's engineering team, contributing to improving management efficiency, producing multi-platform content and gradually building a digital editorial model.
Within the framework of this working program, Lao Dong Newspaper is ready to share experiences in organizing editorial offices, digital transformation, and applying AI in journalistic activities, and at the same time wishes to listen to practical experiences from the Lao Trade Union to learn and improve together.
The Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper believes that, with the spirit of openness, sincerity and cooperation, the exchange program will bring many practical results, contributing to deepening the cooperative relationship between the two press agencies as well as the special solidarity between Trade Unions and peoples of Vietnam - Laos.
