On September 25, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a conference to review 15 years of implementing activities participating in the Better Jobs Program (referred to as the Program) of trade unions at all levels in provinces and cities in the Southern region.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Member of the Presidium, Head of Labor Relations, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were permanent representatives of the Confederation of Labor of the Southern provinces and cities including Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ben Tre, Binh Duong, Can Tho City, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Vinh Long. In addition, there were representatives of leaders, officers in charge of and monitoring the labor relations topic; and union officers at the direct superior level of the grassroots.
The conference was held to survey the difficulties and advantages of participating in the Program of the upper-level Trade Union and the grassroots Trade Union; assess the impact of the Program on the activities of enterprises, Trade Union levels, the economic and social situation, and local labor relations; the role of the upper-level Trade Union; limitations, shortcomings and causes; typical examples; lessons learned; recommendations and proposals.
At the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Member of the Presidium, Head of Labor Relations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - asked delegates to actively participate in discussions, contribute ideas, and exchange issues related to the Program... so that the conference can achieve its set goals.
According to the plan to summarize 15 years of implementing the Better Jobs Program of Trade Unions at all levels (2009 - 2024) of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, previously, provincial and municipal Labor Confederations directly surveyed grassroots Trade Unions under their management participating in the Program (except for units directly surveyed by the General Confederation) in the form of collecting reports and data at enterprises participating in the Program.
The survey content includes the production and business situation of enterprises, the operation situation of grassroots trade unions participating in the Program; and the evaluation of enterprises, trade unions, and workers about the Program.
