With more than 25 years of attachment to Vedan Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do has always been known by colleagues as a dedicated, responsible worker and a typical trade union official. Not only seriously complying with the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State and business regulations, he also actively participates in activities to care for workers' lives.
In his position as Member of the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union, he regularly listens to the thoughts and aspirations of union members to coordinate in organizing many practical activities such as programs for women and children, visiting union members in difficult circumstances or collective cultural and artistic activities. According to him, the trade union is not only a place to protect rights but also a common home, where each union member is cared for and shared to feel secure in working and attached to the business for a long time.
In production labor, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do is a typical example of the spirit of innovation and creativity. Many technical improvement projects implemented by him have brought great economic efficiency, helping businesses save billions of VND each year. Typical are initiatives to improve fertilizer granule transfer equipment, reduce electricity costs for cooling systems or reuse materials in animal feed production. These initiatives not only improve production efficiency but also contribute to using resources economically, towards the sustainable development of businesses.
Not only dedicated to work, Mr. Do is also a model husband and father. He shared: "Family happiness does not come from great things but is nurtured by daily companionship and sharing between husband and wife". Therefore, from taking care of children, nurturing the family to caring for and supporting both sides of the family, he always proactively shares responsibility with his wife. It is this understanding and consensus that has helped his family build an equal, loving and happy home, becoming a fulcrum for each member to strive in work and life.
Another typical example is the family of Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong - Non-specialized Vice President of the Trade Union of Saigon Water Corporation One Member Limited Liability Company, Party Committee member, Chairman of the member grassroots Trade Union and Deputy Head of the Inspection Department of Thu Duc Water Supply Joint Stock Company.
For many consecutive years, Ms. Thu Huong has achieved the title of Grassroots Emulation Soldier, and has been awarded many certificates of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good labor, trade union activities and women's work.
In her role as a trade union official, she always wholeheartedly cares for the lives of workers with many practical activities such as awarding scholarships to children of workers, supporting union members in difficult circumstances, maintaining the Social Mutual Assistance Fund to help hundreds of millions of VND for workers suffering from dangerous diseases or encountering unexpected circumstances. Especially during the COVID-19 epidemic, she proactively proposed many emergency support programs, contributing to helping union members and workers stabilize their lives and feel secure in their work.
Her husband, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duong, is currently a Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Police, Deputy Head of the Political Department of the People's Police University. He has been awarded the title of Emulation Soldier for many consecutive years, and has been awarded certificates of merit by the Ministry of Public Security and People's Committees of provinces for his outstanding contributions to the work and emulation movement "For National Security".
The family of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do and the family of Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong were recently commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor among 95 typical families of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide in 2021-2026.
