In the program "You Want to Date", the bride's family is Le Thi Yen (born in 1995, from Khanh Hoa), currently a coffee shop owner, who used to study and work as an interior designer. The groom's family is Van Thuong (born in 1993, from Quang Ngai), working in Ho Chi Minh City with a private interior production and construction workshop. Both are architects, so they quickly created a good impression when they had a common educational background and work related to design.
Ms. Yen impressed with her confidence, good communication skills and clear thinking about love. She shared that she had gone through three relationships, the longest of which lasted 6 years but ended because of emotional distance and lack of connection. Meanwhile, Mr. Thuong was quite shy, only had one relationship lasting 8 months and admitted that he was "shy about girls", with little experience in love affairs.
However, Mr. Thuong's sincerity and gentleness were highly appreciated by the bride's family. Ms. Yen's best friend also commented that this is a suitable type to balance with her personality, instead of a too eloquent role model like Tran Thanh that Yen once mentioned as an ideal.
In the direct conversation, both expressed respect and goodwill to learn about each other. Yen frankly shared her point of view: she does not put much emphasis on appearance but cares more about personality, sincerity and the ability to share in the relationship. Mr. Thuong also expressed his desire to find a girlfriend who knows how to care, is polite and has stability.
A noteworthy point is that Ms. Yen's love views are highly independent. She believes that we should not be together too much to avoid emotional dependence, and at the same time need private space. This shows maturity after previous emotional experiences.
In the decisive part, although the conversation went quite smoothly, Ms. Yen did not press the dating button. The reason she shared was very clear: "There is nothing between us yet, I want to get to know each other first and then go further". Ms. Yen also emphasized that she is a slow person in love and wants to keep a certain distance before entering an official relationship.
This decision received agreement from the two program MCs, Quyen Linh and Ngoc Lan, when both said that feelings cannot be forced and each person has the right to choose the right time for themselves.
Although they did not become a couple right on stage, the two still kept in touch and agreed to be friends to continue getting to know each other after the program. This is also one of the positive messages that "You Want to Date" brings: not every meeting has to come to a happy ending, but the important thing is sincere connection and the opportunity to open up new relationships.
