According to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, the whole province has more than 1.3 million workers, of which workers from outside the province account for about 60%.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of workers have moved from Dong Nai to other provinces, estimated at 50,000 - 60,000 people, mainly concentrated in the South Central, Southwest, and Central Highlands provinces.

According to the explanation of the representative of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Dong Nai province, the formation of industrial parks in the Central and Northern provinces, so that workers moving back to their hometowns in these provinces to live and work will be more convenient compared to the current life in cramped boarding houses.

“The movement of workers to different locations signals a change, we need to pay more attention to labor quality” - a representative of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Dong Nai province shared.

Currently, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor is continuing to monitor the situation, compile weekly data on union members and workers; at the same time, requesting grassroots unions to coordinate with enterprises to fully implement policies and regulations to ensure workers' rights. Along with that, increasing job referrals for workers who have been laid off or lost their jobs, helping them return to the labor market soon.

From now until the end of 2024, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor also requested that trade unions at all levels focus on stabilizing labor relations and grasping the situation of union members, workers who are underemployed, unemployed, and have their labor contracts suspended.
