On the afternoon of July 17, the Tay Nha Trang Ward Trade Union organized a preliminary review of Trade Union activities in the first 6 months of the year and deployed directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2026.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Duc - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Tay Nha Trang ward said that the whole ward has 59 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) with 8,302 workers, of which there are 7,542 union members.
In the first 6 months of the year, the unit coordinated to organize many activities to care for union members such as giving 900 Tet gifts worth 900 million VND, 100 gifts at the 0 VND booth and implementing many activities to respond to Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health.
Notably, the Ward Trade Union launched the Digital Grassroots Trade Union Map, contributing to supporting union member management, connecting information and improving the efficiency of digital transformation in trade union activities.
Besides the achieved results, exchanging at the conference, many delegates said that the ward trade union model still faces many difficulties when functions and tasks have not been fully regulated.
Currently, the Ward Trade Union mainly implements temporary instructions in Appendix No. 04 issued with Official Dispatch No. 4251/TLĐ-ToC dated June 12, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The decentralization of ward trade unions to the same level as grassroots trade unions causes many obstacles in the management, direction and support of the activities of grassroots trade unions.
The team of ward trade union officials mainly works part-time, the Chairman of the ward trade union is not full-time, so the time allocated for trade union work is still limited.
Ms. Le Thi Tinh Hao - Vice Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Development Project Management Board - said that there are many businesses and workers in the area, but grasping the situation of labor relations and the need to participate in trade unions is still limited.
According to Ms. Hao, developing union members needs to go hand in hand with caring for and protecting practical rights to create attraction for workers.
Recording the opinions, Mr. Bui Dang Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation said that in the last 6 months of the year, the Provincial Labor Federation will focus on advising on perfecting the operating mechanism of the ward trade union in accordance with the two-level local government model.
At the same time, organize a series of activities to care for union members with programs to listen to workers such as "My career story", union member and employee sports festivals, commending typical grassroots trade union officials...
Trade union levels also implemented many solutions, promoting the development of union members, and establishing grassroots trade unions with the goal of admitting more than 9,000 new union members throughout the province.
On this occasion, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation presented 11 gifts in the "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" program to union members in difficult circumstances, donated 2 sets of English reading and learning markers for union members' children, and presented decisions to establish 5 new grassroots trade unions.
The Provincial Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good labor and building a strong Trade Union organization in 2025.
