Bringing practical benefits to workers
For many years, the Trade Union of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Le Mon Industrial Park, Thanh Hoa province) has been considered a "bright spot" in the negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements.
Talking to PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the enterprise was established in 2008, with 100% investment capital from Japan, specializing in producing export garments, currently creating jobs for more than 12,800 workers.
Closely following Guidance No. 41/HD-TLĐ dated November 11, 2021 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on dialogue and implementation of democracy regulations at the workplace, the company's trade union identifies this as a key task in the annual operating plan.
Thanks to doing a good job of preparation and organization, dialogues and employee conferences have promptly resolved many problems arising in labor relations, contributing to building a harmonious, stable and progressive working environment. Notably, nearly 5,000 workers have had their salaries increased ahead of schedule.
Through collective bargaining, the trade union has signed collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more beneficial than legal regulations. The contents focus on salaries, bonuses, job security, improving professional skills, building a culture of behavior, implementing gender equality and preventing and combating sexual harassment in the workplace.
Specific benefits include: Bonus for the 13th month's salary during the Lunar New Year; payment of unpaid annual leave at 300%; organization of commendation for typical workers; maintenance of the "Tet Sum vay" program; female workers pregnant from the 7th month are reduced working hours to 7 hours/day but still receive full salary.
Many welfare benefits have been adjusted to increase such as: Midday meal allowance 20,000 VND/person/day; attendance allowance 280,000 VND/month; rent support 150,000 VND/month; gasoline and seniority allowance from 150,000 - 800,000 VND/month; foreign language learning allowance from 1 - 5 million VND/person/month... These policies have significantly contributed to improving the material and spiritual lives of workers, creating motivation to stick with businesses for a long time.
Creating a positive atmosphere, improving cohesion
Not only stopping at material benefits, the trade union also coordinates with businesses to organize many cultural, artistic, and sports activities; launch production emulation movements; organize programs to care for life such as lucky draws and gifts on holidays and Tet. Thereby, creating a positive working atmosphere and improving the cohesion in the working collective.
According to representatives of the Trade Union of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd., in the coming time, the unit will continue to implement many solutions to improve the quality of dialogue, negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements; actively advise higher-level trade unions in guiding the organization of employee conferences, dialogues at workplaces; strengthen the dissemination of labor laws to union members and employers.
Practice at Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. shows that collective labor agreements are not only a legal document, but also a "bridge" to harmonize interests between workers and businesses. This is a fundamental solution to stabilize labor relations, retain human resources and improve competitiveness in the context of an increasingly volatile labor market.
