People hope to have jobs near home
On March 20, 2026, Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to establish Dam Duong Industrial Cluster in Dai Dong commune.
According to the decision, Dam Duong Industrial Cluster has an area of 73.65ha, oriented to attract processing and manufacturing industries; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment; transportation, warehousing; real estate business and production support services. The infrastructure investor is HSC Dai Dong High-Tech Paper Joint Stock Company, with a total project investment of more than 580 billion VND, implementation time of 36 months. The project has a operating term of 50 years from the date of land allocation or lease.
Many families with children working in distant provinces hope that the project will be implemented soon so that they can return to their hometown to start a business. Mr. Bui Van Hoa (52 years old, residing in Dai Dong commune) shared that his son is working as a worker in the South, only returning home a few times a year. "If the industrial cluster goes into operation, my son can return to work near his family, reduce living costs and stabilize his long-term life. This is a common desire of many households," Mr. Hoa said.
According to local people, for many years, most young workers have had to leave their hometowns to find jobs, while income from agricultural production is unstable. Therefore, the formation of concentrated production areas is expected to open up new development directions for the locality.
Sharing the same expectation, Ms. Quach Thi Lan (27 years old, residing in Dai Dong commune) said that she is currently working in an industrial park in Bac Ninh province, and each month she has to spend a large amount on rent and living expenses. "If my hometown has a stable job, I am willing to return to be close to my family, especially when my children are young," Ms. Lan shared.
Service and trade development opportunities
Not only workers, many small businesses in Dai Dong commune also expect the industrial cluster to create a boost for the local economy. When businesses come to invest in production, the demand for housing, food, transportation, and trade is forecast to increase sharply, opening up opportunities for people to change careers.
Currently, in Dai Dong commune, there are many businesses investing in production factories such as Lac Son Toys Co., Ltd., Thien Dieu Co., Ltd., Tuan Thi Fashion Garment Co., Ltd.... These units have contributed to solving jobs for hundreds of workers in the locality.
In addition, the accompanying service ecosystem, from boarding houses, grocery stores, eateries to transportation and repair, creates more indirect jobs. Mr. Bui Van Quy - Director of Quy Giang Construction Company (a local enterprise) - said that when businesses invest in industrial clusters, the demand for housing, services and trade will increase sharply.
According to Mr. Quy, this area is expected to develop more vibrantly, forming a chain of accompanying services such as boarding houses, dining, transportation, and supply of construction materials; at the same time, the advantage of Dai Dong commune being located near the Ho Chi Minh Road and adjacent to Thanh Hoa will help connect and transport goods conveniently, increasing investment attraction for the area.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dai Dong commune, Phu Tho - assessed that the establishment of the industrial cluster is a great opportunity for the locality to break through in economic development, create jobs and improve people's lives. "When the project comes into operation, the locality expects to attract a large number of workers to return to their hometowns to work, and at the same time create more business opportunities for services, contributing to changing the face of rural areas in a modern direction" - Mr. Thuan assessed.
