Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to terminate the project operation and abolish the decisions of the Provincial People's Committee related to Vu Xa industrial cluster.
Accordingly, Bac Ninh province abolished the decision on the establishment of Vu Xa industrial cluster in 2017 and the decision on adjusting the progress of the investment project to build technical infrastructure for this industrial cluster in 2023.
The termination of the project is carried out at the request of the investor and based on the inspection conclusion of the competent authority," the decision stated clearly.
Also according to the decision, An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (the project investor) is responsible for returning the originals of relevant decisions within 20 days from the date of issuance of the decision; and at the same time adjusting and updating relevant legal documents.
Previously, in early 2017, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (old) decided to establish the Vu Xa industrial cluster in Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district (old), now belonging to Cam Ly commune, Bac Ninh province.
The industrial cluster has an area of 75 hectares. Priority investment sectors are electricity production and after-production products, mechanical engineering serving the electricity industry with a total investment of more than 22,500 billion VND.
In March 2025, according to information at a working session between leaders of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (old) and leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, after being approved for investment policy and establishment of Vu Xa industrial cluster, the investor proceeded to level the ground and basically completed the works on the leased land area.
Also according to Lao Dong reporters' investigation, An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company is also the investor of the An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant project, with a total investment of more than 23,601 billion VND.
The project is located in Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province (now Cam Ly commune, Bac Ninh province), is a group A project, level I industrial works.
At the end of 2025, the Government Inspectorate issued inspection conclusions on difficult and problematic projects under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In which, the conclusion clearly pointed out many violations at the An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant project.
