Spreading the message that businesses must pay more attention to workers

On the afternoon of August 11, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), assigning Lao Dong Newspaper to organize a press conference for the Outstanding Enterprise Award for Workers in 2025.

Sharing at the press conference, Mr. Ha Manh - Executive Director of Garment Corporation 10 - JSC, one of the honored enterprises - shared that in addition to caring about material life, the enterprise always cares about the spiritual life of workers, so that they always feel comfortable, consider workers as their home, thereby improving business efficiency and income of workers.

A representative of Garment 10 Corporation said that the company organizes many activities towards workers, such as: Bringing workers home for Tet, welcoming workers back to work; encouraging workers in difficult circumstances; paying attention to female workers - the majority of the workforce in the enterprise.

Workers are valuable capital, valuable assets of the business. To meet the growth target of businesses, it is necessary to pay attention to employees, so that they become the main driving force for business growth" - Mr. Ha Manh shared.

From the perspective of the employer's representative, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong - Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) - affirmed that business owners have never cared about workers like now, because they understand that this is an invaluable asset.

"Workers will help businesses develop sustainably, maintain job quality, improve competitiveness, create good products, have advantages in the market, and make more profits, thereby giving businesses the opportunity to pay more attention to workers" - Mr. Hoang Quang Phong said.

According to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, it is the workers who will work with the enterprise to develop and improve labor productivity from emulation movements, contributing to sustainable development, thereby continuing to meet the requirements of improving the material and spiritual life of workers.

Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - shared that living wages are one of the solutions to improve the lives of workers. However, the life of workers is not just about salary.

"Workers want a salary to live on, but in addition to a salary to live on, material and spiritual conditions are also very important. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and grassroots trade unions always hope to have a living wage for workers, but currently, the salary level for living has not been announced. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has proposed to the Government to announce the living wage of workers" - Ms. Thai Thu Xuong said.

Ms. Thai Thu Xuong shared that the program to honor businesses hopes to spread the message that businesses must pay more attention to employees and consider employees as the most valuable asset of the business, because employees are the ones with initiatives, creativity, and benefits for businesses.

According to Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the role of grassroots trade unions is very important in promoting businesses to implement policies for workers well. Trade union officials in enterprises must identify the needs of workers, discuss with workers, express through collective labor agreements, how to achieve the goal of harmonious benefits, and share difficulties.
