On September 12, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested trade union levels to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions (CĐCS), and focus on creating sources for Party development among workers and laborers.
Accordingly, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation is required to review the situation of businesses, workers, union members and trade union organizations; develop specific solutions to expand the coverage of trade union organizations.
The goal is that 100% of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) that do not yet have a Trade Union organization should establish grassroots trade unions and at least 85% of enterprises employing 20 or more employees have a Trade Union organization.
To implement it, the Provincial Labor Federation will strengthen grasping the situation of businesses and workers in each area; update data, clearly identify businesses that do not have trade union organizations and the reasons to choose appropriate mobilization methods.
Along with developing union members, the work of creating sources for Party development among workers is identified as a key task.
Trade union levels are required to proactively discover, train, monitor, help and introduce outstanding union members to Party organizations for consideration and admission, focusing on direct production workers at non-state enterprises and FDI enterprises.
According to the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation, developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions needs to take a step forward to expand the area of gathering workers.
From trade union activities and labor practice, the Trade Union organization has the conditions to discover positive factors to nurture and introduce to the Party.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation informed that trade union levels need to shift from mobilizing according to the movement to firmly grasping businesses, workers and each area.
At the same time, improve the quality of activities after establishing grassroots trade unions so that workers can clearly see the representative and companion role of the Trade Union organization.
The Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee also requested functional agencies to coordinate with the Provincial Labor Federation to update and provide information about businesses, labor, and employment; communes and wards to strengthen grasping the situation of businesses and workers in the area and coordinate to create sources and develop party members among workers.
According to this orientation, each union member is gathered, each grassroots trade union is established and operates effectively, not only expanding the trade union force but also creating more addresses to discover and nurture sources of Party development right from the grassroots level.
