According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the labor market in the fourth quarter of 2025 witnessed a clear "rejuvenation" as the age structure had an important reversal. The youngest and most dynamic labor group is 25-34 years old, accounting for the largest proportion with 45.97%. Conversely, the middle-aged labor group 35-54 years old decreased in proportion to 41.08%. This change shows that the "golden labor group" (25-34 years old), with advantages in technology adaptation and dynamism, is looking for/transferring jobs a lot.
Expectations for workers' income have also been significantly upgraded in the fourth quarter of 2025, reflecting greater confidence and awareness of the value of labor. The proportion of job seekers accepting a common salary of 5-10 million VND/month has decreased significantly (to 76.11%). Instead, expectations shifted strongly to higher salaries. Specifically, the group expecting a salary of 10-20 million VND increased from 13.92% (third quarter of 2025) to 21.93%. This change not only reflects an increase in living costs but also shows that workers are increasingly demanding higher benefits.
The labor market in the fourth quarter of 2025 shows a clear shift when the recruitment demand of businesses is increasingly prioritizing skilled workers (college, intermediate), while the supply of workers with university degrees continues to increase.
This movement shows the importance of strengthening the connection between the education and training system and businesses, in order to orient and improve the quality of training in line with actual needs, helping to balance labor supply and demand effectively and sustainably," the Hanoi Employment Service Center said.
The recruitment demand of businesses near Tet in Hanoi is increasing rapidly, contributing greatly to the growth of the number of workers with jobs in the city. Along with that, high GRDP growth accompanied by the fact that the index of industrial product consumption only increased slightly by 0.1% and the labor use index decreased by 1.0% reflects the shift in production lines and the trend of automation, increasing productivity instead of expanding labor scale.
