Not everyone's salary
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh used to be a marketing employee for a famous wedding dress brand in Hanoi. Because she studied well and did the right major to study, Ms. Ngoc Anh is one of the company's excellent employees, receiving a fairly high salary compared to the general level.
After 2 years of association, at the end of 2024, Ms. Ngoc Anh decided to quit her job at her old company and switch to marketing for a fashion brand. Many former colleagues were surprised because Ngoc Anh's work at the new company was more difficult, her starting salary was not even equal to the salary she received at her old company.
I accept changing jobs, working for a new company with a starting salary 4 million VND/month lower than the salary I am receiving at the old company. My salary is 20 million VND/month, plus bonuses and lunch money, total income is about 25 million VND/month. From February 2025, I will start a new company with a starting salary of 16 million VND/month," Ms. Ngoc Anh shared.
The reason Ms. Ngoc Anh "poned off" was because she did not see a future job at her old company. More importantly, according to Ms. Ngoc Anh, in addition to the fixed salary, her sales bonus is almost "standing still". That is, both in low season and peak season sales, she only receives a fixed bonus of about 3.5 million VND/month.
I found it unreasonable, and discussed it with the companys management and leaders several times, but I received an answer: We will consider, then there was no response. I felt disrespected and the benefits were not commensurate with my efforts, so I decided to quit my job, Ms. Ngoc Anh shared.
Love the company because of the care of leaders
Luckily, Ngoc Anh and Hoang Cong Tung are both graphic designers for an architectural firm located in Ba Dinh District (Hanoi).
Mr. Tung said that compared to the general level, the salary the company pays of 30 million VND/month is not the highest income that he can negotiate to receive from the employer. However, he has been with the company for nearly 5 years, since the starting salary was 12 million VND/month.
I love the company and the working environment I am attached to. My boss is extremely thoughtful and cares very much about the staff and workers. In addition to being able to discuss work frankly, we can propose many requirements related to the common welfare of workers. The cafeteria and internal kitchen are the utilities and benefits we have from proposing to the leaders, said Mr. Tung.
According to Mr. Tung, his company gives each employee 5 days off per month. People can choose a weekend or any day of the week, as long as there is a discussion with the administrative department in advance. Of course, each individual's day off is balanced so as not to affect the general work or the progress of the signed project.
Mr. Tung said that up to 80% of the employees in the company have been with him for over 7 years, and the sales department's personnel index has changed due to not meeting the KPI set by the enterprise.
We are especially excited about the companys annual vacation. The leaders often give 3 destination options, the location that is voted by the staff the most will be to organize a vacation there. We feel respected and cared for by the leaders. This is even more important than a salary of a few million VND/month, for me personally. I believe that is also the view of many other workers, Mr. Tung shared.
