Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced a plan to adjust traffic organization at the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection to serve the construction of the overpass item under the Ring Road 1 project.
On May 16, Hanoi Department of Construction issued Notice No. 751/TB-SXD signed by Mr. Tran Huu Bao - Deputy Director of the Department, on adjusting traffic organization in Lang and Giang Vo wards. The implementation time starts from May 18, 2026 until a new notice is issued.
According to the traffic diversion plan, motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles traveling in the direction of Nguyen Chi Thanh - Nguyen Hong will move on a 7m wide temporary road, arranged close to the construction site barrier.
Meanwhile, vehicles traveling on La Thanh road in the direction of Hoang Cau - Nguyen Chi Thanh will enter a temporary road with a width of 12.3m to 15.2m.
Other traffic directions in the intersection area continue to be organized according to the current traffic sign and traffic light system.
Representatives of the Hanoi Department of Construction said that the adjustment is to ensure traffic safety and limit congestion during the construction of one of the important items of the Ring Road 1 project - a key traffic infrastructure project of the Capital.
To implement the plan, the City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize the installation of additional signs, adjust paint lines, traffic light systems and complete temporary traffic infrastructure.
Along with that, functional units will strengthen propaganda, guide people to choose suitable routes; coordinate with traffic police forces to divert and regulate traffic and promptly handle arising situations.
The Hanoi Department of Construction also requested the Hanoi City Police to strengthen inspection and handling of violations of traffic order and safety, especially acts of stopping and parking in violation of regulations, encroaching on roads and sidewalks, causing traffic obstruction in the construction area.
The authorities of Lang and Giang Vo wards are requested to coordinate in organizing traffic regulation, ensuring urban order, and at the same time propagate to people to be proactive in their travel.
Hanoi Department of Construction said it will continue to monitor and assess the traffic situation in the area to promptly adjust the plan to suit the reality, contributing to reducing congestion and ensuring safety for traffic participants.
