According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2024, regarding wages and income, in general, units and enterprises maintain wages and income levels that ensure the regional minimum wage as prescribed in Decree 38/2022/ND-CP and adjusted and supplemented according to Decree 74/2024/ND-CP of the Government (effective from July 1, 2024).

The average salary of workers is from 10 - 11.5 million VND/month.

Of which, the state-owned enterprise sector is 16.7 million VND/person/month; the foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise sector is 9.8 million VND/person/month; and the private enterprise sector is 7.5 million VND/person/month.

According to the explanation of relevant agencies, the average income of workers in state-owned enterprises in Quang Ninh is the highest, higher than the average income of workers in FDI enterprises, with a large contribution from the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV).

According to TKV, in 2024, the average salary of the whole Group is estimated to reach 17.95 million VND/person/month, equal to 109.2% of the plan at the beginning of the year and 101.1% of the implementation in 2023; of which coal production reaches 18.77 million VND/person/month.

Also according to TKV, TKV's average salary increased by 8.6% per year, in which the average salary of miners reached 1,000 USD/person/month.

In particular, the number of miners with high income, from 300 million VND/person/year, increases annually.

In 2018, the number of miners of 14 underground coal mining companies in Quang Ninh with an income of 300 million VND/year or more was just over 700 people and increased to 2,600 people in 2019, 3,240 people in 2021, about 4,000 people in 2022 and approximately 10,000 people in 2023.
