Workers must register information on the national database

The Law on Employment (amended) effective from January 1, 2026 adds the content of building a database on employees.

Accordingly, employees must register information related to qualifications, skills, occupations... for state management, building a national unified database of employees. This database will be connected and synchronized with the National General Database, the National Population Database and other databases.

Article 17 of the Law on Employment (amended) stipulates that employees must register for 5 groups of information from January 1, 2026.

Basic information groups include: full name; personal identification number; date, month, year of birth; gender; ethnicity; current residence.

Information group on qualifications (general education, vocational education, higher education), vocational skills certificate and other certificates.

Group of information on the status and demand for jobs.

Information group on social insurance and unemployment insurance.

Other information groups about the characteristics and characteristics of the registered person.

Employers and employees will register and adjust this information when participating in social insurance.

Employees who do not participate in social insurance must submit their registration documents and adjust their labor registration information to the place of labor registration.

The database on workers will be built and managed centrally and consistently nationwide.
