Over 19 billion VND to take care of union members and workers in Soc Trang

Soc Trang - In the first 6 months of 2025, Soc Trang Trade Union has taken care of union members and workers with more than 19 billion VND.

On the morning of June 26, the Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) held the 5th Conference of the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee, term XI, 2023 - 208, summarizing trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2025.

In the first 6 months of the year, trade unions at all levels in Soc Trang province have implemented many practical activities, focusing on the grassroots, caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers.

Notable are programs such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", "Union Meal", launching Workers' Month and Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health, cultural and sports activities, resources... Thereby, creating cohesion and peace of mind for workers.

During the Lunar New Year 2025 alone, 7,976 gifts worth more than VND4.1 billion were increased for union members and workers (an increase of 1,620 gifts compared to 2024). Trade unions at all levels presented 33,076 gifts with a total value of nearly 11.77 billion VND. In addition, in response to the "2025 Trade Union Tet Market" Program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the whole province has 3,260 union members participating and receiving support for shopping vouchers worth VND500,000, with a total cost of more than VND1.63 billion.

The Trade Union Shelter Program supports the construction and repair of 87 houses for union members in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of over 4 billion VND. Welfare agreements continue to be effective, with 452 union members benefiting from discount programs, shopping support, health check-ups, etc.

The whole province currently has 136 enterprises (reaching 97%) supporting shift meals from VND18,000/meal or more, through forms suitable for production and business conditions.

Responding to Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month in 2025, the whole province has 721 Trade Unions organizing emulation activities and movements. On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded 93 certificates of merit to outstanding workers; the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded 100 gifts, 23 Trade Union Shelters and 50 scholarships to children of union members.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor awarded 10 decisions on early retirement and 6 decisions on termination of employment to cadres according to personal wishes, implemented according to Decree No. 178, effective from July 1, 2025.

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor also organized gifts for cadres who ceased to hold the positions of Executive Committee members, members of the Provincial Federation of Labor Inspection Committee and cadres and civil servants who transferred to work or retired under the regime.
