Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau - Head of the Department of Propaganda and Support for Social Insurance participants in Region I (Hanoi) said that, implementing the direction of Vietnam Social Insurance on the Social Insurance agency directly transferring monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments through personal accounts to beneficiaries on the 2nd of each month.
If the 2nd falls on a holiday, the payment schedule will start from the first working day after the holiday. For those who receive pensions and social insurance benefits in cash, the Social Insurance agency will coordinate with the Post Office to pay after the payment date via personal accounts.
Regarding the pension and social insurance allowance payment activities for beneficiaries in the capital in July 2025, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau said that according to the administrative unit arrangement plan, from July 1, Hanoi will have 126 communes and wards, reducing 400 commune-level administrative units compared to before.
Hanoi's implementation of the 2-level local government model from July 1, 2025 will not greatly affect the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits because nearly 100% of beneficiaries have received money through their accounts. The Social Insurance Agency plans to pay beneficiaries through personal accounts on July 2, and pay in cash to nearly 6,000 people, so the Social Insurance Agency will continue to coordinate with the Post Office to develop a timely payment plan for beneficiaries after July 2" - Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau shared.
It is known that currently, Social Insurance of Region I has directly paid pensions and social insurance benefits to people.
Of which, payment by transfer to personal accounts is 99.31% of the total number of people received on the 2nd of each month and nearly 6,000 people receiving cash will be paid by Area I Social Insurance in coordination with the Post Office after the 2nd of each month...
In June 2025, Social Insurance Region I prepared more than VND 4,025 billion to pay pensions and social insurance benefits to more than 595,080 people.
According to Vietnam Social Insurance, in urban areas alone, currently over 86% of beneficiaries receive pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment benefits through personal accounts (exceeding 26% compared to the target assigned by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1813/QD-TTg dated October 28, 2021 on approving the Project for developing non-cash payments in Vietnam for the period 2021-2025). Notably, in the payment period of June 2025, the whole country had more than 81% of the total number of people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits through personal accounts.
