Lai Chau Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) directly manages 10 trade unions at the grassroots level, including 08 district and city trade unions and trade unions of provincial Party agencies, the Provincial People's Committee Trade Union with a total of 762 affiliated trade unions, of which, 692 are state administrative and public service trade unions; 70 are production and business areas.
The whole province has 23,057 workers, civil servants, and union members of 22,983 (of which, union members are in the administrative and career sector 21,491, and 1,492 are in the production and business sector); female union members account for over 55%.
In the first 6 months of 2025, many practical and meaningful activities were organized, such as: "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", "Union Tet Market" ... on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, trade unions at all levels presented 10,370 gifts with a total amount of over VND 4.6 billion; supported 1 Union Shelter and 18 union members with a total amount of VND 86 million; visited and supported union members and union members' children in difficult circumstances with 2,560 gifts with a total amount of nearly VND 640 million.
During Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Order Month 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 8 union members' families with housing difficulties and supported and presented gifts to 105 union members in difficult circumstances and suffering from serious illnesses; supported 77 union members and children of union members in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Hoang Tho Trung - Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial Federation of Labor - said: Entering the second half of 2025 - the pivotal year in the implementation period of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party, Lai Chau Provincial Federation of Labor clearly identifies its pioneering role, heavy responsibility but also full of honor in developing the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in a practical, effective and sustainable manner.
In particular, in the coming time, we will continue to promote propaganda and political and ideological education for union members and workers. Continue to promote the widespread dissemination of the Party's resolutions and directives, the State's laws and policies, especially documents related to trade unions and workers. At the same time, continue to arrange and perfect the union organization in the direction of streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency. Resolutely implement plans to merge and streamline the organizational apparatus in accordance with the direction of the Central Government, the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Strengthen the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; pay attention to supporting workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, and having work-related accidents. Launch practical and effective patriotic emulation movements. Promote emulation movements associated with the reality of each industry, each locality, and unit. Along with that, it is an organization to honor typical advanced examples, good models, and effective methods.
Promote the development of union members, build a strong union organization. Focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the non-state sector - where there are many difficulties in organization and mobilization. At the same time, strengthen training and fostering professional skills for grassroots union cadres, especially in private enterprises.
Along with strengthening inspection, supervision and union financial work. Direct the implementation of inspection of compliance with the Trade Union Charter, use of trade union finance and assets transparently and in accordance with regulations.
Promoting the achieved results, frankly recognizing the difficulties and limitations, Lai Chau Provincial Federation of Labor is determined to act strongly, responsibly and creatively to make the Trade Union truly a reliable and solid support for workers, civil servants and laborers.
