By July 1, 2025, all 13 Labor Federations (LDLD) at district, city and block trade unions under the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor had been dissolved and merged. More than 1,100 grassroots trade unions are under the guise of being unified into one unit, the Trade Union Working Committee. Union officials are assigned to directly manage the area and manage the activities of grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions by cluster, ward, ensuring that there are no "breakages" in the system.
Although there are currently no conditions to establish commune and ward trade unions according to the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Federation of Labor has proactively maintained the management of trade union activities at the grassroots level through the assignment of full-time staff. In the first 6 months of 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province have organized a series of practical care activities for union members and workers: Supporting nearly 8,000 gifts for Tet, building 29 Union Shelters, supporting nearly 40 million VND for workers with serious illnesses, work-related accidents... In particular, programs such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", "Worker's Month", " Voluntary Blood Donation Festival" ... were organized synchronously and creatively, attracting thousands of union members to participate.
At the same time, the work of representing and protecting the rights of workers has also been promoted. Trade unions at all levels participated in giving comments and reviews on dozens of legal documents, organizing policies implementation supervision, participating in labor dispute mediation, and providing legal advice to hundreds of people.
The spirit of "streamlining to make it elite" is clearly demonstrated in the work of building the organization. In the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial Federation of Labor admitted more than 300 new union members, established 6 more grassroots unions outside the State sector, organized 2 training courses to improve personnel capacity, strengthen the activities of women's committees, and promote the emulation "Good at public work, good at housework".
Implementing Resolution 18 of the Central Committee and Project 43 of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the trade union system also merged the organization and dissolution of three local industry unions, and participated in giving comments and implementing major projects on streamlining the Fatherland Front and local socio-political organizations.

According to Ms. Be Thi Hoa - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lang Son province, President of the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor, streamlining the apparatus does not mean narrowing the functions or representative and caring role of the Trade Union organization: "On the contrary, in the context of organizational change, the role of the Trade Union must be more clearly demonstrated, must be flexible, close to reality, and closely following the employees in a new and more effective way".
We believe that, even if the organization changes in form, the nature and responsibility of the trade union - a trusted companion of employees - will not change. And we will continue to make efforts, listen and act so that each union member and employee always clearly feels the value of the Trade Union organization - Ms. Be Thi Hoa affirmed.
Entering the new period, the Lang Son Provincial Trade Union not only plays a "connecting" role between workers and the government, but is also a pioneer force in mobilizing, uniting, and promoting local socio-economic development. Streamlining the organization does not reduce the position, but is an opportunity for the trade union to innovate and make a breakthrough, affirming its strong role in the hearts of employees.
