Fear of falling into online recruitment traps
Although looking for a job in the field of information technology - an industry that is often associated with cyberspace, Ms. Phan Thuy Hang (a worker in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi) still decided to spend time attending the Job Fair held in Dong Anh commune this November. Her wish was to find a software testing location, but instead of submitting an application online, she chose direct contact.
"I used to look for a job online but the information was often unclear. The biggest worry is meeting unprestigious companies, they can take me to strange places, making me feel very uneasy," Ms. Hang shared.
This concern comes as recruitment scams are appearing more and more on social networking sites. According to Ms. Hang, attending the festival helps her feel safer because the participating businesses all have clear information and can discuss directly to assess the appropriate level.

Not only young people who are knowledgeable about technology, but even older workers have a similar fear of being afraid. Ms. Tuong Thi Thu is a retired cadre but still wants to find more work to earn income. Ms. Thu expressed: "Currently, there is a lot of information about fraud online. Therefore, coming here to find a job directly makes me feel more secure and less worried".
At the festival, Ms. Thu found a suitable company, ready to train new skills for beginners, something she could hardly find and trust through online posts.
Beware of "virtual" recruitment tricks
Talking to Lao Dong newspaper reporters, Mr. Vu Quang Thanh commented that technology has created a virtual market where workers are easily caught up in virtual traps. According to him, the root of the problem lies in the psychology of job seekers.
Mr. Thanh analyzed that it is the illusion of idle jobs with huge salaries that has become a loophole for bad guys to exploit.
He said that online scams are not really new, sometimes they are just old traps. However, they are always effective because they are greedy in every worker. The sad reality is that many workers still fall into these tricks.

The Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center said that the general level of salary payment for job positions is basically similar to each other and depends on each specific segment and field. There will be better positions due to their specific nature, but there is absolutely no such thing as "easy work, high salary" as advertised online.
The consequences of being gullible are not only loss of money, but other benefits can also be violated. Therefore, Mr. Thanh advised workers to always be vigilant. At the same time, you must be proactive in verifying information before making any decisions.
