Searching for crocodiles appearing in flooded areas in Nhon My commune, Can Tho

Can Tho - A crocodile about 1.5m long was discovered by local residents in Phung Tuong 2 hamlet (Nhon My commune), the authorities are searching for it.

On the morning of November 7, Mr. Cao Minh Thom - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon My commune (Can Tho city) said that the locality is verifying and organizing a search for a crocodile discovered by local people in Phung Tuong 2 hamlet.

Accordingly, at around 10:00 a.m. on November 6, Nhon My Commune Police received a report with images provided by a resident about the discovery of crocodiles floating on the water in the canal leading to the ditch. According to initial information, the crocodile was about 1.5m long and weighed 30 - 40kg. People discovered the incident while alone at home, then reported it to relatives and local authorities. When people around pulled to see, the crocodile had sunk.

Upon receiving the information, Nhon My Commune Police coordinated with local security forces to go to the scene, compare images taken by local people; and mobilized local people to support the search, but so far the crocodile has not been discovered. The People's Committee of Nhon My commune has directed specialized departments and the People's Committees of hamlets to advise people to be vigilant.

Previously, on social networks, images and information about crocodiles appearing in the garden of a household surrounded by floodwaters in Phung Tuong 2 Hamlet (Nhon My Commune) were circulating, causing many people to worry. This information quickly attracted hundreds of shares and comments.

The People's Committee of Nhon My commune recommends that people stay calm and not share unverified information to avoid causing panic in the community.
