According to information from the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival activities are required to ensure safety, economy, practicality and rich education, both creating a useful playground and helping children understand and appreciate traditional cultural values.
One of the highlights of the program is Meeting and giving gifts to 300 - 350 children of union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses or achieving excellent academic results.
Each gift worth 500,000 VND will be given to the children, promptly encouraging and motivating them to strive in their studies.
In addition, 10 typical grassroots trade unions in organizing Mid-Autumn Festival activities will also be visited and given gifts, each worth 2 million VND.
It is expected that the gifts will be given to children of union members and workers with serious illnesses, long-term treatment, and disadvantaged families. Students with excellent academic achievements in the 2024 - 2025 school year, or those who won first, second, and third prizes in the Cultural Excellent Student Competition from the district and city level or higher.
In parallel with visiting and giving gifts, the Provincial Federation of Labor directs grassroots unions to coordinate in organizing many healthy entertainment activities such as cultural activities, arts, sports, and folk games.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Hoang Thi Hue - Chairwoman of the DK Bike Company's Trade Union said: "Every Mid-Autumn Festival, the grassroots trade union always tries to join hands with the enterprise to take care of the spiritual life of the children of workers. This year, we have prepared 81 gifts, each consisting of 4 cakes, expected to be given to the children near the full moon of the 8th lunar month. Hopefully this small gift will bring joy and timely encouragement to the children".
Ms. Be Thi Hoa - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, President of the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation shared: "With the motto "Mid-Autumn Festival for all children", the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation hopes to not only bring joy to children, but also connect families, communities and grassroots unions, creating motivation for union members' children to strive to study, practice and nurture dreams".
