According to the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor, there are currently about 162,000 workers in the province, including 102,000 female workers. Since 2017, the “Your Health” model has been maintained and implemented by trade unions at all levels in the province, helping to promote health care and the lives of female workers.
On September 26, the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor organized a model called “Your Health” to communicate, examine, and provide free health consultation to 600 female workers at Dream Plastic Company Limited (Truc Ninh district, Nam Dinh province).
At the conference, in addition to communicating about reproductive health care, the company also organized health check-ups and consultations for female employees. Accordingly, doctors at Hong Ha General Clinic conducted blood tests, cervical cancer screening, ultrasound, etc. After receiving the results, the doctors will analyze the results and advise on health care for the employees.
Ms. Hoang Thi Mai, a worker at Dream Plastic Co., Ltd., said: “This morning, I came to the company early to get a blood test, then had breakfast with milk and bread prepared by the union. Next, I went to get a consultation on reproductive health, then went to the medical room for an ultrasound. For workers like me, who often do not have much time and conditions to go for a self-examination, the union's concern for free screening and testing is very meaningful.”
Sharing more about the periodic health check-up activities and care for female workers, Mr. Vu Quang Huy - Vice President of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the model "your health" has been deployed at many grassroots unions in the province, through the model to better care for the health of workers. From there, it helps workers have more understanding about their health status, know how to take care of their health appropriately, to ensure the best service for production and work, improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
In parallel, many other models and utilities are continuously operating and organized by the Trade Unions at all levels in Nam Dinh province to improve the material life of union members and employees. In particular, the Trade Union of Dream Plastic Company Limited has maintained the model of "Breast milk collection and storage room" which brings practical benefits and directly serves many female employees of the company.
