Hoping for stable prices and reduced inflation
Ben Cat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City is one of the localities with many businesses and many workers. Among them, Diamond Vietnam Co., Ltd. currently has more than 6,000 workers, mostly young workers. Before the election day, workers were propagated by the youth union and trade union about candidates and voting locations. Workers expect the election to be successful, selecting outstanding delegates, and solving pressing issues related to the lives of workers far from home.
Ms. Tran Ngoc Y (born in 2001, from Ca Mau) said that both husband and wife work at the company, with a stable income of 18-20 million VND per month. However, recently this income is not enough to cover expenses in the context of rising prices. Each month, tuition, food and milk for two young children alone cost 10 million VND. Adding nearly 2.5 million VND for rent, food for the whole family, gasoline money... accounts for the entire income.
Compared to in the countryside, the income of the couple is considered quite good. However, the living standards in Ho Chi Minh City are currently very high, our income is not enough to cover expenses. I hope that through this election, I will select outstanding delegates who are dedicated to the lives of migrant workers. Through that, I hope delegates will come up with solutions to stabilize prices and reduce inflation so that workers can ensure their lives" - Ms. Tran Ngoc Y expressed.
Representatives of Y A Chau Door Industry Co., Ltd., Ho Chi Minh City (with about 1,300 workers) said that there are 4 urgent issues that the company's workers are concerned about. First, building more schools in the North of Ho Chi Minh City so that students who are children of workers do not have to suffer from overload. Second, modernizing hospitals in Tan Uyen area so that workers do not have to go far to get treatment. Third, paying attention to handling to ensure food safety, not allowing counterfeit goods to mix into workers' meals. Fourth, building more social housing projects in the old Binh Duong province area. Projects priced from 300-500 million VND are suitable for workers' income. Thereby helping workers settle down in Ho Chi Minh City and businesses stabilize labor sources for production.
Salary, welfare and working conditions policies
Worker Thach Gia Minh, working at Lefaso Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production JSC (Tra Cu commune, Vinh Long province) said that having access to information about candidates helps workers better understand who will represent their voice.
According to Mr. Minh, workers expect National Assembly and People's Council deputies after being elected to pay more attention to salary policies, welfare and working conditions. Issues related to workers' daily lives are always of particular concern to workers.
We hope that when delegates are elected, they will listen to the opinions of workers, propose more appropriate policies on salaries, social insurance and maternity benefits for women" - Mr. Minh expressed.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Kim Xuyen - a worker at Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that workers hope that the elected delegates will pay more attention to policies to support workers, especially housing, welfare and working conditions. These are contents that directly affect the lives of workers.
