In the movie "Tai", Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy plays Mrs. Phuc - a woman from the Mekong Delta who works as a mason, has an unhappy marriage and has to witness her son go down the wrong path. When her son reforms, she herself falls into the gambling trap, creating an emotional tragedy for the character.
Born in 1976, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy is an actress, screenwriter, stage director and visiting lecturer at the University of Theater and Cinema of Ho Chi Minh City. In nearly 30 years of operation, she has participated in more than 100 diverse roles from comedy, drama to characters of many ages, nổi bật with the films: "Ai xuôi vạn lý", "Cây táo nở hoa", "Tro tàn rực rỡ", "Dù gió có thổi"...

In the role of screenwriter and director, Hanh Thuy left her mark with the work "Dong Nho", winning 7 awards, including the Best Director award. She won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Vietnam Film Festival 2007 and the Golden Kite Award 2023. In 2015, she was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist and received the Labor Medal for her contribution to culture and art.
Constantly improving, Hanh Thuy graduated with a Master of Arts in 2026, in the same course as People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi and Hoang Map. At the same time, she actively participated in social activities such as running for deputy of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2021-2026 term. It is known that she was introduced by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to run for election, at constituency No.: 01, Thu Duc city.
Regarding her private life, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy married sculptor Phan Nhat Phuong and has two daughters: Phan Thuy Anh (2006, nickname Xi Muoi) and Phan Tue Anh (2013, nickname Dau Rong).
Hanh Thuy's family once went through a major challenge when their first daughter lost her hearing. With the love and perseverance of a mother, she and her husband have persistently accompanied their daughter for many years. After more than 10 years of effort, happiness came when she could hear the sounds of life for the first time.
Sharing with the media, she said she always prioritizes family. Her time away from home rarely exceeds a week, and overseas business trips are only about 10 days. She takes advantage of breaks between filming schedules to go home to have lunch with her children, take them to school and then return to work.
