This Mid-Autumn Festival, gifts were brought by the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation to many localities and businesses, instead of just focusing on one program.
In Rach Gia ward, 210 gifts were presented during the "Mid-Autumn Festival Night 2026" held on the evening of September 17. In Long Xuyen ward, 250 gifts were presented during the program held on the evening of September 19. In addition, 100 gifts were sent through grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) at businesses with many workers and 40 gifts were for children of union members and workers (NLĐ) in Phu Quoc special zone.
For union members and workers, the joy of their children is also part of helping them feel secure in their work. Many people share that salaries must be used for rent, food, schooling and many other living expenses, so caring for children also contributes to sharing the daily worries of parents.
For families in difficult circumstances, adding an expense for children during holidays and Tet is also something to consider. Therefore, a gift that comes at the right time can help parents lighten some expenses, and young children have more joy during the moonlit season.
Mr. Tran Phu My, a union member of An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company, is such a case. He is the main breadwinner, his wife stays at home to take care of her son and mother-in-law, who are 80 years old this year. All living expenses, worries for family and relatives depend on his salary.
As for Ms. Pham Thi To Nga, a union member of Teasung Rach Gia Co., Ltd., life is also difficult, with many hardships. Her family is near-poor, renting a house, her husband has unstable jobs. She does sanitation work with a salary of less than 6 million VND/month but has to take care of 4 family members. At times, the incurred expenses exceeded her ability to manage, she had to borrow money to cover expenses.
For families like Mr. My and Ms. Nga, a Mid-Autumn Festival gift may not be materially large, but it comes at a time when workers have to spend a lot on their families, which also becomes a concern. Precisely for that reason, activities aimed at children of union members and workers are increasingly focused on by the Trade Union, in addition to programs directly supporting jobs, income and life.
Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation - said that caring for children of union members and workers is part of caring for family life. According to him, workers spend a lot of time on work to ensure their lives, so activities for children not only create playgrounds for children but also help parents have more joy and peace of mind after working hours.
From the provincial level to the grassroots level, care is also implemented in many forms. If there are programs focused on creating a joyful atmosphere for children, at enterprises, grassroots trade unions proactively bring gifts to workers right at their workplaces. More than 10,000 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts have been given by grassroots trade unions to union members and workers on this occasion.
At Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd., Teasung Rach Gia Co., Ltd., An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company and many other businesses, Mid-Autumn Festival activities are organized in accordance with the conditions of each unit. Gifts are given during working hours, at enterprises or through activities for employees' families, creating more joyful atmosphere between production days.
From the perspective of employees, such activities are not only about the value of the gift but also about the concern, sharing, and companionship of the Trade Union organization and businesses.
Caring for children of union members and workers is therefore also a way for the Trade Union to get closer to the lives of each family. From there, helping workers have more peace of mind to work and be attached to the business.
