Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Dao Minh Tu emphasized that over the years, the banking sector has always paid special attention to social security work across the country, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas with many difficulties such as Cao Bang province...
Mr. Dao Minh Tu said that in order to respond to the Prime Minister's call for the program "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", since the beginning of 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam has launched a movement in the entire sector, with resources contributed from 1 day's salary of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the banking sector. The movement has strongly attracted the response, to date a total of 82 billion VND has been mobilized, corresponding to the construction of 1,366 new houses, exceeding the original target by 36.6%.
Of the 82 billion VND that has been mobilized, the State Bank of Vietnam has allocated 15 billion VND through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and directly supported 67 billion VND for 26 provinces and cities in difficulty. Cao Bang province is one of the localities selected to support this period with an amount of 2 billion VND, demonstrating the strong commitment of the banking sector to accompany the province in completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Hoang Van Thach - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province respectfully thanked the timely and practical support of the Bank for Nursing Houses of Vietnam, especially the close attention of Mr. Dao Minh Tu personally.
Mr. Hoang Van Thach said that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been implemented by Cao Bang province very early with the high determination of the entire political system and the consensus of the business community, philanthropists and people.
Up to now, the whole of Cao Bang province has eliminated more than 20,000 temporary and dilapidated houses. In the period of 2021-2024 alone, more than 10,000 houses have been replaced with solid, safe shelters. From the beginning of 2025 until now, we have continued to delete about 10,000 more apartments. This is a great effort in the context of limited provincial budgets, cut-off terrain, and scattered population.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province also shared that the current target completion rate of the program has reached 99.73% and the province is determined to complete the complete elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by August 31, 2025.
The support of 2 billion VND from the State Bank of Vietnam will be at the right time, to the right target and will be used by the province effectively and to the right beneficiaries.
