The program received high consensus from the Ministry of Public Security with a support level of up to 20.4 billion VND from the socialized source of the Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union - said that in recent years, the banking industry has always accompanied the entire political system in social security programs, especially in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor and disadvantaged people.
This is a good tradition that has been maintained for many years. Since the beginning of 2025, in response to the Prime Minister's call, the SBV has launched an emulation movement to "Join hands to eliminate 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses". To date, the banking sector has mobilized 82 billion VND, equivalent to 1,366 newly built houses, exceeding the original target by 36.6%. Of which, the SBV has allocated VND15 billion to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and directly supported 26 other provinces and cities with a total value of VND67 billion. Lang Son province is one of the localities supported in this period, with a budget of 4 billion VND drawn from the contribution of one day's salary of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the banking sector.
According to Mr. Dao Minh Tu, although the amount of money is not large, it is the sincere and practical sentiment of tens of thousands of Banking industry officials towards people in mountainous areas and border areas with many difficulties such as Lang Son with the hope that this will be a resource that contributes to accelerating the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses so that people have better living conditions, more stability and more confidence to rise up in life.
On behalf of the local government, Mr. Luong Trong Quynh - Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude for the timely and affectionate support of the State Bank. With the active support of the Provincial Police, philanthropists and now support from the State Bank, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is bringing clear results, helping to stabilize the lives of hundreds of households. Today's 4 billion VND support from the State Bank of Vietnam is truly at the right time and place. This will be an essential resource for the province to continue implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, aiming to leave no one behind" - Mr. Quynh affirmed.
This is one of the practical activities in response to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister of the State Bank.
