On May 26, the Vietnam Railway Trade Union coordinated with the Vietnam Railways Corporation to organize a dialogue conference between the Corporation's leaders and road patrol and level crossing guard staff in 2026.
At the conference, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation answered 39 related recommendations, focusing on 2 groups: Investment in facilities, infrastructure, management organization, production and business operation; salaries, norms, payroll, internal regulations, policies, working conditions.
Regarding the proposal to increase salary income for road patrol and level crossing workers, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan suggested that units must have a balanced plan from salary sources from other production and business of the unit to supplement and increase salaries and income for the above-mentioned group of workers.
Proactively refer to and learn from the experience of units with forms of paying high salaries for road patrol and barrier guards in the same infrastructure management block (at Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company, the actual salary received for road patrol is over 10 million VND/person/month, barrier guard over 9 million VND/person/month; at Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company, the actual salary received for road patrol is over 8 million VND/person/month, barrier guard over 7 million VND/person/month, excluding salary supplements and holidays, Tet).

At the conference, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan also answered the proposal to research and apply science and technology in road patrol work, in order to meet the scale of technical infrastructure as well as the increasing speed of trains.
Accordingly, the Corporation is researching the application of science and technology in road patrol work, including the use of road patrol vehicles combined with early arrival warning devices, positioning and journey monitoring to reduce the labor force for road patrol staff, improve the efficiency of infrastructure inspection and ensure train safety.
The Corporation has reported to the Vietnam Railways Authority on the process of management, use, maintenance and upgrading of "Mechanized vehicles used for railway inspection and patrol work", and at the same time proposed to allow continued research, completion and application of the results of topic No. 164055 into the practice of railway inspection and patrol work according to regulations.
Regarding the proposal to build more accommodation houses to support accommodation for families where both husband and wife are railway workers who are renting boarding houses, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan said that the Corporation prioritizes allocating funds to improve working conditions, renovate and build accommodation houses to serve employees during the boarding process at the unit; there is no policy to build new accommodation houses for rent.

Speaking to direct at the Conference, Mr. Dang Sy Manh - Chairman of the Member Council of Vietnam Railways Corporation requested Railway Joint Stock Companies to continue to pay attention to and care for the lives and working conditions of road patrol and level crossing workers. In which, it is necessary to ensure income for workers.
Regarding recommendations beyond the Corporation's jurisdiction to resolve, Mr. Manh requested relevant units to summarize them to report and seek opinions from competent authorities in the near future.
