The working delegation of Vietnam National Shipping Lines and the Corporation's Trade Union led by Mr. Pham Van Hai - Vice Chairman in charge of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union recently had a gift-giving trip to people in flooded areas in Nghe An province.
Accordingly, the working group presented 400 million VND to representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tuong Duong commune and Muong Xen commune - these are two communes heavily affected by storm No. 3 with historic floods causing serious flooding, causing great damage to local infrastructure, houses, property, livestock, and crops of the people.
Talking with representatives of the two communes, Mr. Pham Van Hai expressed: Cadres, union members, and workers in the Maritime sector understand that the losses that the people are suffering are extremely great. With social responsibility, the Corporation and the Trade Union of the Maritime Corporation always turn to the community, especially in areas affected by natural disasters. The Maritime industry hopes to work with authorities at all levels and the whole society to join hands to support people to soon overcome this difficult period".
The leaders of the Fatherland Front of the two communes sent their sincere thanks to the Corporation and the Corporation's Trade Union for their timely and meaningful attention and support. At the same time, he pledged to use the funding source transparently, effectively and for the right purpose.
Also within the framework of this meaningful working trip, the working group visited and encouraged teachers at the Tuong Duong Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities. This school has special significance, when the Corporation itself sponsored the construction of phase 1 of the project in 2010, contributing to creating a spacious and modern facility for students in the highlands.
Here, the delegation listened to shares about the expected teaching and learning situation of the school after the flood. Although not on the list of schools that suffered direct and heavy damage, the indirect impacts on facilities, equipment, and the lives of students and teachers during this period also made the school community worried.
Mr. Pham Van Hai encouraged teachers to continue to be steadfast in overcoming difficulties and maintaining their enthusiasm for the profession, especially in the context of many students and families facing countless difficulties after natural disasters.
In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods.... to soon stabilize their lives.
The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
