Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga (77 years old) said that on April 25, her bank account received more than 4.5 million VND in pension for May 2025. When the money was officially in her account, Ms. Nga could not hide her joy.
With a pension in May earlier than usual, Ms. Nga is completely assured about her upcoming April 30 - May 1 holiday plan.
Discussing the holiday plan, Ms. Nga said that she plans to go to Hanoi to visit her children and grandchildren for 3 days. This is also the ideal time for her to visit some landscapes and historical sites in the capital without fear of traffic jams.
"I often prioritize going to Hanoi to have fun during holidays because the streets are quite deserted and peaceful at this time. I plan to spend about 2 million VND on a 3-day trip during the April 30 - May 1 holiday" - Ms. Nga said.
Living with her children, Ms. Nga shared that she did not have to pay for food or accommodation, only for transportation and return. In Hanoi, she will prioritize taking the bus. She has also researched and plans to go to both places for about 200,000 VND.
With 2 million VND spent traveling, Ms. Nga said that she did not feel sorry, nor did she have to spend frugally for May. In July 2025, she may continue to receive a pension increase because she is eligible for retirement before 1995 with a low benefit level.
Since the morning of April 24, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Quoc (73 years old, Ha Nam) has continuously asked his children to check their bank accounts to see if they have received their pension. By the afternoon of April 25, Mr. Quoc was happy because his account already had money.
"Receiving a pension of more than 4 million VND, I am very happy to be given the opportunity to receive an early pension to celebrate the country's big holiday" - Mr. Quoc said.
With the pension received in advance for May, Mr. Quoc said that he would use it to buy food to treat his children and grandchildren during the holiday. Mr. Quoc estimated the cost at about 1 million VND or less because his children would often buy food to bring.
Mr. Quoc also plans to spend 500,000 VND for his grandchildren and grandchildren to go out to a party near their home. "When I have an early pension, I feel much more secure, not dependent on my children, but on the contrary, I can proactively welcome my children and grandchildren to gather during the holidays" - Mr. Quoc shared.
Previously, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance on the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for the May 2025 period, as of 3:00 p.m. on April 28, 2025, the entire Vietnam Social Insurance system has basically completed the payment for 3.41 million people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits.
