Civil servants expect to improve part of their lives
The Ministry of Home Affairs is seeking public opinions on the draft Decree stipulating the base salary and bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces.
According to the proposal, the base salary will be adjusted to 2,530,000 VND/month from July 1. 2026. This information is receiving great attention, especially from officials, civil servants and public sector employees.
As a teacher working in Thanh Son district, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Trang said that the information about the base salary increase made her and many colleagues very excited.
According to Ms. Trang, the income of teachers has now improved a lot, but there are still many difficulties, especially for young people who are new to the profession or are raising young children.
Teachers' salaries largely depend on the coefficient multiplied by the base salary, so each adjustment has a direct impact. When I heard the proposal to increase to 2,530,000 VND/month, I really looked forward to it because this will help improve some of my life and reduce daily spending pressure," Ms. Trang shared.
Ms. Trang added that with the current base salary of 2,340,000 VND, including her salary and allowances, it reaches nearly 10 million VND/month. When the base salary increases, the salary can increase to nearly 1 million VND.
Although the corresponding amount of money has not increased much, it also helps families cover living expenses. Moreover, the increase in the base salary gives teachers more motivation to feel secure in their work and stick with the industry for a long time," she said.
Sharing the same feeling, Ms. Doan Ha My (Thanh Ba commune, Phu Tho) said that her family has a husband working in the administrative sector, so they are very concerned about the salary policy. According to her, increasing the base salary is necessary in the current context.
Living, studying, and medical expenses have all increased, while the income of officials and civil servants is still limited. If the base salary is adjusted up as proposed, it will help many families reduce some pressure," Ms. My shared.
Improving salary policy
According to the draft, the subjects of application include cadres, civil servants; public employees; contract workers in administrative agencies and public non-business units.
People working in associations supported by the budget; officers, professional soldiers, national defense workers; officers, non-commissioned officers, police workers; people working in cipher organizations and duty forces.
The adjustment of the base salary to 2,530,000 VND/month from July 1, 2026 aims to institutionalize the policy in Conclusion No. 206-KL/TW, while ensuring compliance with the socio-economic situation and budget balancing capacity.
This adjustment of the base salary not only contributes to improving income for salaried earners but also creates motivation to improve the quality of the contingent of cadres, civil servants, and public employees.
In the context of increasingly high development requirements, reasonable wage policies are considered one of the important factors to improve the operational efficiency of the public sector.
