Southeast Asia Energy Development Joint Stock Company (Bat Xat commune, Lao Cai province) operates in the field of hydropower construction, electricity production and business, with 74 employees working in many areas.
This characteristic makes it not easy to gather and grasp the thoughts of union members.
According to Mr. Tran Van Tram - Chairman of the grassroots trade union, to truly be a support for workers, trade union officials must be close, listen and understand the issues they are concerned about.
From there, grasp the situation, reflect legitimate recommendations to business leaders, and at the same time propagate to workers to understand and fully exercise their rights and obligations in labor relations.
During his activities, he actively participated in building, negotiating and implementing collective labor agreements with many contents that are more beneficial than the minimum level according to regulations.
The Trade Union also coordinates to organize annual Employee Conferences, creating a forum to directly contribute opinions, dialogue, and work with businesses to remove obstacles.

During the COVID-19 epidemic, Mr. Tram and the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union proactively advised on solutions to both maintain production, jobs, income, and ensure safety for workers.
The Trade Union proposed that businesses support food, accommodation, living expenses, treatment drugs, anti-epidemic clothing and testing kits for union members who have to work centrally, with a total cost of nearly 500 million VND.
During the rain and floods, the trade union continued to mobilize resources to support union member families who suffered losses of more than 100 million VND, helping them gradually stabilize their lives.
Not only taking care of life, Mr. Tram also pays special attention to labor safety.
In his position as Vice Chairman of the Company's Safety, Occupational Health and Fire Prevention and Fighting Council, he participated in inspecting and identifying unsafe risks; proposing solutions to overcome and mobilizing employees to comply with protection procedures.
The Trade Union also coordinated with businesses to build a green and friendly working environment; including launching the planting of 5,000 bougainvillea trees in the factory area.
I always determine that doing trade union work must first of all be close, listen and understand workers. When union members encounter difficulties, the trade union must be present, must find ways to support within their ability" - Mr. Tram shared.
These contributions contributed to helping the grassroots Trade Union of Southeast Asia Energy Development Joint Stock Company to be recognized for many years, including the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2021.
Mr. Tran Van Tram himself was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and the Medal "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization".
