Ms. Ton Nu My Hanh, Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd. (An Giang) shared that she is very happy that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union was successful and especially impressed with the content in the directing speech of General Secretary and President To Lam: The Trade Union was established to represent, care for, and protect workers (NLĐ).
All programs, plans, and movements must answer the question: what do workers get, what rights are protected, what difficulties are removed, what voices are heard. Trade union effectiveness is not only measured by the number of meetings, the number of documents, the number of movements, but must be measured by the trust of union members, the satisfaction of workers, the quality of collective labor agreements, the number of successfully protected cases, and the level of improvement in life at the grassroots level.
This is also a direction for Trade Union levels to operate in the coming time, taking union members and workers as the center, the effectiveness of Trade Union activities must be substantially measured by the trust and satisfaction of union members and workers.
Ms. Hanh expects that in the new term, the Trade Union organization will continue to have mechanisms and policies to support grassroots trade unions at FDI enterprises to operate more effectively; strengthen training and fostering skills for Trade Union officials; and at the same time promote programs to care for the material and spiritual life, protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
For grassroots trade unions, we are determined to propagate the contents of the Provincial Trade Union Congress Resolution, the Vietnam Trade Union in a practical way and through specific activities and movements, close to union members, strengthening dialogue and collective negotiation, building a safe, stable and harmonious working environment. Thereby contributing to improving the lives of workers, accompanying businesses for sustainable development and building an increasingly strong Vietnamese working class in the new period. Contributing more actively to building the Party and building a more developed country," Ms. Hanh emphasized.
And the Trade Union of Thoai Ngoc Hau High School for the Gifted (An Giang) expressed its expectation for commitments that match words with deeds. Not stopping at listening, the contents of the dialogue with the Prime Minister at the Vietnam Trade Union Congress will bring specific action commitments, measurable by results.
The grassroots trade union also expressed its desire for a clear division of responsibilities for ministries and sectors to definitively resolve each petition according to a specific time frame. Cutting 50% of administrative procedures, putting the confirmation of beneficiaries of social housing on the VNeID electronic identification application so that workers do not have to return to their hometowns to apply for confirmation.
The strong message about social security is the affirmation of the safety of the Social Insurance Fund and the determination to thoroughly handle the situation of salary arrears and insurance evasion of illegal businesses.
The Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the school expressed that the Prime Minister's dialogue is not only a forum for workers to speak their voices, but also a measure of the working class's belief in the Party and State's social security policies. Removing "bottlenecks" in food, clothing, rice, money, insurance and housing is the key to liberating labor and promoting sustainable economic development. Workers nationwide have great faith and expectations in breakthrough policies from the Government.
