On June 6, leaders of Da Huoai 2 Commune People's Committee said that they had visited and inquired about households damaged by tornadoes, and at the same time directed specialized agencies to statistically assess the extent of the impact to propose support plans.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 5, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes appeared in hamlet 1 and hamlet 2 of Da Huoai 2 commune.
According to local people, the rain lasted for more than an hour, while the tornado only lasted about 15 minutes but caused heavy damage to durian gardens that were preparing for harvest.
According to initial statistics, the tornado caused more than 50 tons of durian to fall, and at the same time caused dozens of durian trees to be uprooted and broken.Nearly 30 households were affected, including 6 households suffering heavy damage.
Mr. Lai Van Vien's household (village 1) lost more than 20 tons of fruit and 8 durian trees over 10 years old were broken and fallen. Mr. Nguyen Tan Du's household lost 23 durian trees in the business period and lost nearly 10 tons of fruit.

In hamlet 2, the households of Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Truong Cong Binh, Dinh Van Toi and Nguyen Minh Hong Diep all lost 5-6 tons of durian each household. Among them, the households of Mr. Truong Cong Binh and Mr. Dinh Van Toi also had many durian trees broken and fallen.
In addition to the heavily damaged households, more than 20 other households also suffered fruit drops from several quintals to tons.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong - Vice Chairman of Da Huoai 2 Commune People's Committee - said that immediately after the natural disaster, the locality directed functional forces to coordinate with the villages to statistically assess damage; at the same time, guide people to overcome the consequences and implement measures to respond to storms and tornadoes during the changing season.
The Commune People's Committee has reported to higher functional agencies to consider financial support to help affected households soon stabilize their lives and restore production.
