Timely support
On March 27, the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) organized the donation of 4 "Union Shelters" to union members and workers and 5 charity houses to households in difficult circumstances in the area.
As one of the people receiving the Union Shelter, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Huong (residing in Son Phu Commune, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province) - a worker at Ben Tre Seafood Joint Stock Company - said that her average income is about 7 million VND/month, just enough to cover her family's daily life, so her dream of having a spacious house beyond her ability.
Currently, she lives with her biological parents and 2 children, and is the main breadwinner in the family, so her monthly income is just enough to cover expenses. Thanks to the timely support of the Trade Union organization, her dream of owning a house has come true.
"The Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor supported me with 60 million VND to build a Trade Union Shelter. In addition, the company also supported me with an additional 10 million VND, I was very happy. With this total amount of money, I can buy raw materials to build a house, helping my family have a spacious house, no more dilapidation" - Ms. Huong shared.
Ms. Huong added that since being accepted to work and join the Trade Union, she has received a lot of attention and support both materially and spiritually. This is also the motivation for her to continue to strive to work and stay with the unit as well as the Trade Union organization for a long time.
Sharing the joy with Ms. Huong, according to Mr. Pham Hoang Nam (residing in Tan Thanh Binh commune, Mo Cay Bac district, Ben Tre province) - a worker at Go Dang Ben Tre One Member Co., Ltd., he is the main breadwinner in the family. Because his children are still young, his wife has to stay at home to take care of their 3 children's education. The house is now leaking, and every time it rains, the water splashes in. The family's difficult circumstances make the dream of building a spacious house become distant.
"The Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor supported 60 million VND, the company where I work supported an additional 10 million VND. For many, this may be a small amount of money, but for my family, it is a huge amount of money. Today, receiving support from the Trade Union Shelter program, my family and I are so happy that we cry" - Mr. Nam said emotionally.
