On March 27, the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) organized the donation of 4 "Union Shelters" to union members and workers and 5 charity houses to households in difficult circumstances in the area.


Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the groundbreaking of the construction of the Trade Union Shelters and charity houses today not only helps union members and local people have safe and convenient accommodation but also contributes to the socio-economic development of the locality. This is also a meaningful and humane result of the spirit of "mutual love", the joint efforts of all levels, sectors and the whole society, always caring for and accompanying union members and workers in social security work, especially those in the most difficult circumstances.
As one of the people receiving the Union Shelter, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Huong (residing in Son Phu Commune, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province) - a worker at Ben Tre Seafood Joint Stock Company - said that her average income is about 7 million VND/month, just enough to cover her family's daily life, so her dream of having a spacious house beyond her ability.
Currently, she lives with her 2 children and biological parents, and is the main breadwinner in the family, so her monthly income is just enough to cover expenses. Thanks to the timely support of the Trade Union organization, her dream of owning a house has come true.

"The Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor supported me with 60 million VND to build a Trade Union Shelter. In addition, the company also supported me with an additional 10 million VND, I was very happy. With this total amount of money, I can buy raw materials to build a house, helping my family have a spacious house without any more dilapidation," Ms. Huong shared.
