Research by Anphabe Company shows that out of 10 people who have been cut, 7 people find new jobs. Of these 7 people, only 1 person accepted a lower salary, 3 kept the salary and 3 found a new job with a higher salary.
According to Anphabe Company, in the current context, businesses are facing an unfavorable situation: If leaders cannot prove their financial potential, operate effectively and do business transparently, employees and workers will not only become "office Zombie", they are not afraid of being fired or will resign themselves.
According to Anphabe's research, the situation of "quick quitting" or "nessmissal" is no longer a big minus point in the application for jobs of employees, especially in the group of talented employees. This is an interesting development, showing that the labor market is becoming more flexible and open.
Anphabe's survey shows that: For every 10 people who have suffered a cut, 7 have found a new job. Of these 7 people, only 1 person accepted a lower salary, 3 people kept the salary and 3 people even found a new job with a higher salary. That is, being fired is sometimes an opportunity for many people to make better strides in their careers.
As for the new generation of workers - especially Gen Z, short-term stays with the company (1-2 years) have become a new standard for this generation, instead of a sign of instability as previously viewed. This requires an adjustment in the way employers evaluate candidates as well as the way they build a working environment and develop their personnel.
According to Ms. Thanh Nguyen - Director of Anphabe Company, the process of laying off and cutting personnel in both the world and Vietnam will slow down, not be as drastic as in the period of 2022 - 2023.
"The IT industry will gradually recover, meaning that some companies will cut but some companies will also recruit more. The fact that IT companies have cut staff by 25% to 50% in the past 2 to 3 years is partly due to the innocent recruitment during COVID-19, in order to serve the sudden increase in demand from customers who have to work at home, said Ms. Thanh Nguyen.
Ms. Thanh Nguyen emphasized that to compete with talent and recruit people, many technology companies have offered very high salaries. Currently, the demand for technology of consumers has decreased combined with the general salary level, so many IT companies have cut staff to re-lace them in the form of part-time work or with lower salaries.
