Spreading the festival spirit
These days, in many industrial parks in Da Nang, the atmosphere towards election day is clearly present. From factory gates, dining areas, worker living areas to boarding houses, banners and slogans to celebrate the Mountains and Rivers Festival are everywhere.
At Poster Electronics Co., Ltd. in Hoa Cam Industrial Park, where more than 600 workers are working, the business leadership has taken advantage of mid-shift breaks to propagate the Election Law and the meaning of participating in voting.
Propaganda videos are shown on screens at the dining hall, and internal loudspeaker systems are also used to remind workers about the election time, rights and obligations of voters. Thanks to this, information about election days is no longer dry regulations but has become a story close to daily working life.
Ms. Luu Thi Khuyen - a worker working at Hoa Cam Industrial Park, Da Nang - said: "The company's Trade Union regularly disseminates information through loudspeakers during lunchtime so that workers can better understand the meaning of participating in elections. We will carefully read the information of each delegate to select people who are virtuous and talented enough.
Mr. Nguyen Van Be Hai - Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the trade union has coordinated with businesses to organize propaganda about elections through many different forms.
At the company's dining area, the trade union regularly screens information related to elections so that workers can monitor during meal times. The propaganda content is designed to be concise and easy to understand to help workers access it conveniently.
We presented content related to the election such as the summary biographies of the candidates, the significance of the election and the necessary information for workers to understand clearly," Mr. Hai said.
Mr. Le Duy Khuong - Director of Lefaso Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production Joint Stock Company - said that the enterprise has created a summary resume of National Assembly and People's Council delegate candidates at all levels in the easily observable area for workers to follow.
According to Mr. Khuong, in addition to the listing board, businesses also use an internal broadcasting system to provide information about election-related content, helping workers fully and accurately grasp it.
We informed workers about the biography summary of each candidate, polling stations in the commune as well as how to conduct voting in accordance with regulations" - Mr. Khuong said.
According to Mr. Khuong, creating conditions for workers to learn about election information not only helps workers exercise their civil rights well, but also contributes to raising awareness of each person's responsibility to the community.
Ensuring voting rights for workers
One of the common concerns of workers before each election is scheduling voting time, especially for those who work in shifts or work on Sundays. Therefore, many businesses have proactively adjusted production plans to create conditions for workers to exercise their civil rights.
At some businesses in industrial parks in Da Nang, the leadership has rearranged working shifts, allowing workers to take morning breaks or rotate between production teams on election day. This approach both ensures that production activities are not interrupted and helps workers feel secure to vote.
In many worker dormitories, propaganda work is also directly deployed to each worker.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dung - Head of the Self-Management Workers' Group of Boarding House No. 1 (Lien Chieu ward, Da Nang) - said that this area has more than 1,000 workers living and working in neighboring industrial parks.
Before the election, we reminded landlords and workers to learn about the Election Law and hold elections in the right places. I also went to each boarding room to mobilize, and used loudspeakers attached to motorbikes to propagate around the boarding area so that everyone could look forward to the election day" - Mr. Dung shared.
From factories, industrial parks to worker dormitories in Da Nang, the atmosphere of the election day is spreading clearly. Red flags with yellow stars hanging in front of boarding rooms, small propaganda sessions during lunch breaks or conversations about candidates are gradually creating the atmosphere of a big festival day. On that festival day, each vote of workers is not only a legitimate right of voters, but also sends the belief, responsibility and expectations of workers for the future of the country.
