Shield" against all distortions
These days, across our country, flags and flowers are brilliant. All preparations for the 16th National Assembly (NA) election day and delegates of the People's Councils (PCs) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term are ready for the mountain festival. Whether located in remote mountains and forests or remote islands, with difficult or favorable travel conditions, all preparations are carried out in the most thoughtful way.
This is a major political event of the country, associated with the process of building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law state, contributing to consolidating the people's trust in the political system and the leadership of the Party. The election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies is an important mechanism to ensure that state power truly belongs to the people, and at the same time is the foundation for promoting socialist democracy.
In the atmosphere of urgent preparation for election day across the country, an important requirement is to continue to consolidate the people's trust - the foundation to ensure that the all-people festival takes place democratically, unitedly and successfully. That trust comes not only from legal regulations but also from the transparent organization, responsibility of the political system and the active participation of each citizen.
According to Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc - Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture - Society (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), when voters trust in the fairness and transparency of the election process, trust in the quality of the selected delegation, each ballot not only carries the meaning of legal procedures but also becomes an affirmation of will and responsibility for the future of the country. Therefore, consolidating social trust is also the most solid "shield" against all distorted and destructive arguments aimed at reducing political trust.
Affirming belief in the country's development path
Through the elections, election work in our country has been constantly improved in the direction of publicity, transparency, and in accordance with the requirements of building a socialist rule-of-law state.
One of the notable innovations is the strengthening of publicity and transparency of information about candidates. Candidates' records, resumes, and action programs are widely publicized for voters to learn, evaluate, and choose. Information transparency not only ensures voters' right to know but also contributes to enhancing the responsibility of candidates, encouraging future delegates to clearly demonstrate their capacity, vision, and commitment to the People.
Along with that, digital transformation is gradually being applied in many stages of election work. From updating voter data, managing candidate information to propaganda and dissemination of laws on elections, technology platforms have contributed to improving management efficiency, minimizing errors and creating favorable conditions for voters to access official information.
According to Ms. Ta Thi Yen, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Election Council, one of the major highlights in this election is the integration of election data into the National Identification Application (VNeID). The Ministry of Public Security has guidelines on exploiting the national population database to serve the election. Voters now only need to open their phones and access VNeID to view all information, biographies, and action programs of candidates at their constituencies. This helps voters' right to access information to be carried out anytime, anywhere, transparently and fully.
A new point is the combination of online and direct voter contact, creating conditions for candidates and voters to easily access information in the context of administrative units changing in scale, area and population. These innovations not only improve the quality of elections but also contribute to strengthening voters' confidence in the process of selecting representatives for the People.
The election of NA deputies and People's Councils at all levels is not only a legal process but also a vivid expression of the people's right to mastery in the socialist rule-of-law state. The people's belief in the election is the decisive factor ensuring that the all-people festival takes place democratically, unitedly and successfully.
When that belief is nurtured by transparency, responsibility and active participation of the whole society, all distorted arguments will have no place to live.
Each ballot is therefore not only a choice of delegates representing the will and aspirations of the People but also an affirmation of faith in the path of development of a rich, strong, democratic, fair, and civilized country under the leadership of the Party.
At the National Conference to thoroughly grasp the Politburo's Directive on deploying the election of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: The 16th election takes place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election, will continue the source of democracy of the country, affirm the strength of great national unity, and bring the country to firmly develop in the new era. The success of the election will create an important starting point for the construction and consolidation of the State apparatus for the new term, creating a solid socio-political foundation for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.
