Settling down and making a living from a project with humanistic meaning
Nearly 9 months after the groundbreaking ceremony on September 30, 2025, the Giao Long Trade Union Social Housing project (Vinh Long) is maintaining positive progress despite prolonged rainy and windy weather. Notably, building A2 - one of the four building blocks of the project - has completed towing, creating motivation for units to continue to accelerate construction.
In the early days of June, the working atmosphere at the Giao Long Trade Union Social Housing construction site was still bustling. The sound of machines and steel hammers rang out continuously, interspersed with the concentration of workers completing each item.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a construction worker, said that the completion of building A2's towing is a great joy for the collective of workers at the construction site. This achievement is the result of many months of continuous work, even in unfavorable weather conditions.
According to Mr. Thanh, whenever conditions permit, teams take advantage of overtime to compensate for the time affected by rain and wind. Everyone hopes the project will be completed soon so that many workers have the opportunity to access housing at a reasonable cost.
We are very excited to see the project taking shape day by day. This is not only a place where we work but also a project of great social significance. Many workers and laborers are waiting for these apartments to stabilize their lives," Mr. Thanh shared.

Sharing the joy, Ms. Tran Thi Hong - a construction worker at the construction site - said that although the work is hard, everyone strives to stick to the project to ensure progress. According to her, each completed part of work is not only the result of collective labor but also contributes to creating warm homes for workers in the future.
Looking at the project becoming more and more shaped, there is more motivation to work. The biggest wish is for the project to be completed soon so that many workers and laborers have stable accommodation, feel secure in working and developing their lives," Ms. Hong shared.
For many workers, a house is not only a place to shelter from the sun and rain but also a foundation for settling down, developing the family economy and building a sustainable future.
Increase overtime, increase construction teams to bring the project to completion soon
According to Mr. Ha Manh Cuong - Project Commander, the project progress is currently being well controlled thanks to the proactiveness in construction organization and site management.
Mr. Cuong said that since the beginning of the rainy season, the unit has continuously adjusted work plans according to weather developments, taking advantage of favorable times to increase manpower and equipment, ensuring no interruption of progress.
Up to this point, building A2 has completed raising the roof about 10 days earlier than planned. Meanwhile, building A3 is also being deployed very smoothly and is expected to raise the roof about 45 days earlier this weekend (approximately June 27-28)." Mr. Cuong informed.
According to Mr. Cuong, the fact that many items are ahead of schedule is the result of synchronous coordination between the investor, the supervision consulting unit and the construction unit. On the construction site, many parallel construction teams are currently maintained to shorten the implementation time but still ensure technical requirements, quality and labor safety.

We continue to maintain a suitable overtime regime, flexibly arrange human resources and prepare sufficient supplies so as not to interrupt construction. The goal is to accelerate the progress of the remaining building blocks, creating a premise for the project to be completed earlier than planned," Mr. Cuong added.
With the current positive progress, the project is gradually realizing the goal of bringing quality apartments to union members and workers. When completed, the project will make an important contribution to ensuring social security, helping many worker families realize their dream of settling down right in their hometown.
The Trade Union Social Housing project in Vinh Long, invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour with a capital of more than 554 billion VND, includes 699 apartments on an area of more than 3.2 hectares, with 4 7-story blocks and 2 parking blocks. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in the third quarter of 2027.
