Receiving a gift from Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh, Ms. Duong Thi Duyen, born in 1987, a worker at Minh Anh Garment Company (Yen My district, Hung Yen province) could not hide her emotions.
Ms. Duyen said that she has been working at Minh Anh Garment Company for 3 years, this is the first time she has received a gift from the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
“The union has always cared for us workers. When we are sick or have a wedding, the union always shares the burden with us in a timely manner. My husband is a freelancer so his income is unstable, and I have two young children of school age. Receiving the gift today, I have both incense offerings for my ancestors and money to buy Tet gifts for my children,” said Ms. Duyen.
Sharing the same joy as Ms. Duyen, Mr. Vuong Cong Thoan, a security guard at Minh Anh Garment Company, said: “I am very excited, love the company even more and am very grateful to the union. Having been with the company for 4 years, I have a stable income of nearly 8 million VND/month, pay social insurance, and receive care from the union. This afternoon, I will invite my daughter's family, son-in-law and grandchildren to celebrate.”
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh said that over the years, the trade unions at all levels of Hung Yen province have successfully organized many activities to care for workers, civil servants and laborers during Tet, especially the Tet Sum Vay program originating from the initiative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
“These meaningful activities affirm that the care of the trade union organization is always a reliable support, closely attached to union members, workers, civil servants and laborers. The trade union is the “common home”, operating with the motto “wherever workers are in difficulty, there is a trade union organization” and always striving to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in each agency, unit and enterprise” - Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh said.
Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh and leaders of Hung Yen province presented 100 gifts to 100 workers and laborers; each gift included 1 million VND in cash and 300,000 VND in gifts.
